but think now I should have bought the deluxe version. Didn't know that I could purchase updates and additional pages until I received it today and started looking around, especially at the pages I could print directly from the UG website.

So, here's my question...do I return the spiral to Amazon.com, thereby losing an amount equivalent to return shipping, since the item wasn't damaged or defective and then order the deluxe version elsewhere (can get it w/ no shipping costs from B&N) or do I keep it and get the deluxe next year, or do I keep it AND order the deluxe version?

So many choices...

Or do you take it to you local bookstore or WalMart, say you got it as a gift ;) and ask to upgrade and pay the difference  Did I say that out loud? Sorry, just a moment of sheer craziness

I would never do anything like that...:teeth:

Okay, my mom works at a bookstore, it was HER idea...NO FLAMING on right and wrong...pirate:

If you have kids you could give the spiral bound edition to them. That way they could feel more involved in the planning.

HI janets,
I used the spiral version when we went in June and the whole time we were at WDW I really wished that I had the deluxe version. I didn't realize how much more convenient it would have been to be able to remove pages and carry them around with us. We did NOT carry the spiral Passporter to the parks with us because of its size. If I were you I would return the spiral version and hunt around for the deluxe edition. I do not see any reason to have both as they have the same pages in them as far as I know. Or maybe you can sell your spiral version to someone you know who will be going to WDW this year. ;)
Whatever you decide, have a fabulous time!!!

trracers...how could you LOL! Seriously, I know that they sell it at B&N and their website has the deluxe version so that's an option. Not sure if they have them both in store, but perhaps I'll check that out this weekend.

Shelle&Dave, my kids are 6.5 and just 2 so they really aren't into the planning mode, although I did buy Disney for Kids by Kids for my older ds so he'll know what other kids think of WDW.

Momshark, that's exactly why I'm thinking of trading up. I want to have a place for all my papers, tickets, identification, etc. but I want to be able to take just a page with me into the parks. We're staying offsite this year (with young kids and my mom coming, we needed more room than we could get on site w/o having to pay for 2 rooms) so once I leave the condo, I'm out for the day. If I forget something, I can't run back and get it.

I think I'll call B&N tomorrow and see if they have both in stock and see if I can return the spiral and upgrade to the deluxe.

Thanks everyone!

I purchased the deluxe edition right off, and I love it! I know the content is the same as the spiral version, I just like the flexibility and orginization of the planner-style. All the extra pockets are really handy, and there's something to be said about the fun official feel of the faux leather. You definitely should figure out a way to do the upgrade!

Does Walmart sell the Passporter? I checked 3 bookstores before our trip last month and couldn't find it.

I also bought the spiral after about 3 days I realized I wanted the deluxe. I gave away the spiral and bought the deluxe. I love it. I also like that I can buy new organizer pockets for each trip and keep them in the binder. We are going several times this year and it has been worth it. I love my Passporter and keep everything for our trips in it.

I have never seen one at our Wal-Mart. You can order them on-line at the passporter website. That is where I got mine.

Check out overstock.com too! I've seen them on there for 40% off... During my lunch, I just saw my friends leather one and I LOVE it!! Now, I HAVE to have one!! :p

I have the spiral bound one too but I will order the 2005 deluxe edition when it comes out. I also want to be able to take out pages for restaurants in parks on the days I'm going, reviews of the attractions, etc. And I've been going to Disney for years! I'll give my 2004 to a friend I'll be going to WDW in April. We're both using this one to plan our trip. I absolutley love the passporter!

Or you could even sell the Spiral on Amazon. They have the button that says "Sell Yours Here". That way your could recoup some of the shipping.

The first one I bought was the 2001 Spiral and loved it to the extent that I purchased the 1999 & 2000 on sale to put all our previous trip information into. I purchased the 2002 Deluxe and have gotten the yearly updates since. Once we start planning a trip, everything goes into the Passporter. I keep our annual passes in there, so that I know where they are at all times.

I even got a "Magical Memory" published in the 2003 edition.

I just recently purchased the 2004 edition and extra pockets. Our update got here the day before we left for our trip to WDW in May, so it was perfect timing. I was able to put all the new information into our binder to take with us.
