Just Booked...only 15 days out

Ah!!! I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to hear about how you will break the news to your daughter! That's very sweet. :cutie:

I hope that someday I will be in a position where I can plan spontaneous trips to the World with little to no plan. It sounds like such a fun adventure!! :goodvibes

Have a safe journey!

We can do it neonurse!! We can keep the secret.

I hope you have an amazing trip with your boys!!

BTW-I am a nurse too.

I have met quite a few nurses on this board. Must be that we all need to escape reality!! I work in NICU. What area do you work?

We will be there when you are! What an awesome surprise! Oh man, you know what I'd do if I were you, I'd tell her you are going to visit your friend or something or if you have out of town relatives, and not even mention it until you are at the airport getting on the DME bus or pulling into the gates at WDW! If she is too keen to pull it off, maybe tell her when the plane lands.

Thanks!! My plan all along has been to tell her when we get to the airport. My Mom will be dropping us off and I thought we could tell DD that we are actually dropping GrandMa off. But I like your idea about waiting until we are in FL. The closer it gets, the more ideas are popping into my head about surprising her.

Thanks so much! Please let me know if you have any ideas about surprising DD, I have not decided how I will do this yet.

It helps that we live closer. I also have an AP and we had airline credit that needed to be used up this year.It has been a fun adventure.

Thanks again!

Keep your secret.... You will enjoy her reaction! I just did that last June... Told the boys when they got home from their last day of school... Told them they needed to go to bed early, which caused a frenzy since they did not have school the next day... then I handed them each a note that said we leave for WDW @ 5am.... Priceless and completely worth holding the secret!!!!

I will second that!! :goodvibes

I worked Adult Gen Med for many years. But I left patient care a few years ago for a more stable work schedule. I work in drug safety now, mostly pre-market investigational products, in a research organization. My company gets hired by the big pharma companies that want to outsource some or all of the responsibilites during clinical trials to get a drug to market.

I do miss patient care on a daily basis though. I am thinking about returning to it in the next few years. I really miss the three day work week. As DD gets older, I think I could go back to that schedule.

Getting excited about the trip. Have you decided how you are going to give your boys the news? I can't decide how or when I want to tell DD.

What a great story!!
We will be leaving after work on a Wednesday. I get off at 5 and our flight is at 7:20, so somewhere between 5-7 is when I plan to break the news! LOL

When you come back home, you will have to come back to this post and let us know her reaction and what a great time you and your family had! 5 is such a terrific age to go!!!!!:)

Keep your secret!! It will be so worth it! I surprised my DD when she was 6 with a mommy/daughter trip to MVMCP and to see my parents that were vacationing at WDW! We told her that we had to go to an appointment and DH drove us to the airport!! She was shocked and the whole way down, and even asked on the Magical Express bus if we were really going to Walt Disney World! It was one the of the best trips that I have ever had!!

Have fun!!!

Trish

I was thinking of serving mickey shaped waffles for breakfast and leaving the disney luggage tag at their placemat. Then when they ask I will tell them that we are having a disney "do over trip"! We were at orlando in nov but my mom hurt her foot and we only went out to MK one day and only for 3 rides...so we, just ds's and me (dh is working) are having a do over!

I saw a video on youtube where this family drove their grandmother to the airport because they thought she was going on the trip and it turned out that the grandmother was dropping them off. It was priceless. The little girl said ...pinch me, I must be dreaming...so cute. I think thats a great idea! Let me know how it goes.

Well there have been some changes to our last minute trip. My DH can no longer go, his job is giving him a hard time about taking the time off. With the current economy, we do not want to cause any waves so my DMIL will be going instead. I am a liitle worried because we have never traveled together before. But we are going to my happy place and that is all that I need to focus on. DMIL has never been to WDW before, so I am excited for her first trip.

Thanks for all the ideas and well wishes! We have still kept it our secret!

neonurse-I love your Mickey waffle idea! Have a great trip!
