Lol, yes, and to try up the value happyj, pay an extra 53c at the resort foodcourt for a Mickey Straw to speed up the consumption

If you go to the Riverside Foodcourt, and send your DD to do the "Riverside Dance" (with the Riverside music around the beverage island) CMs sometimes give free Mickey Straws to participating kids.

That's 53c saved on top of speeding ip the consumption

So is it just sparkling wine that is included as it says on MDE that the cost excludes alcoholic beverages, taxes and gratuities under participating restaurants?

We did the dessert party at mk last year and it was about 24 pound we paid I think, but there wasn't any Alcohol it was hot drinks and cordials, the seats were allocated when we got to the terrace and we were lucky to get a front table, there were plenty of choices and it was good viewing for the fireworks but the electric light parade you couldn't see that well and it was nice not being in the main crowd and being able to sit and wait while everyone cleared after the fireworks. It is expensive but it is a nice treat and to experience it was good, the 3d dessert party during the food and wine is the one to go to as that's where the alcohol flows along with the desserts and watching iluminations with the 3d glasses was fun.

We have now cancelled our reservation. We do like to try everything and have experienced MK desert party but thus really did not seem worth the money. !!

You can always grab a cocktail from WS and use a FP+ for preferred viewing.

How much is a glass of Processo in Italy? Prob $8-10 for a glass the same size as they give out at the party- so you need to drink about 5 to 6 of them to get free dessert and a nice place to watch the fireworks

If you think Disney pricing then its maybe not too bad- providing you like fizzy wine!

If you have kids tho can see it being a total waste for them, no seats to sit on don't help either.

Agreed. I think if you added a wine option to the Wishes Dessert Party it would be in a similar price bracket. I do think it's very expensive and not something I would do just to secure a spot for the fireworks, but unlike many others, for a special evening for adults, I don't think it's terrible. Just not a once a trip thing - maybe once every few years. If I suggested this to DD and told her the price (She's 12 so too young to benefit from the sparkling wine) I know without a doubt she'd tell me she'd wait outside and take the $49 in cash

But if you wanted to break it down:

If they offered the spot alone without refreshments for $15 a head people would snap it up. Add a dessert package for $10 each and people would grab that too. Add a wine add-on for $20 and many would do that. If you break it down as per Disney prices it doesn't look as harsh. Take a family of 4 in there with 2 kids 10 or above and that $200 is a shocker lol

Well, I wouldn't pay $15 (or $60 for my family!) for just a spot, not even a chair! Not when I can get a free FP+ for basically the same spot! And then if I could have just the desserts without the wine, that would be worth $10. But they're forcing me to pay for the wine add-on for everyone in my party--including my 11-year-old! Now add the fact that you have a whopping 6 choices for dessert, none of which look over-the-moon wonderful. And only two bubbly wines. The Wishes party offers tables full of all sorts of dessert choices---many, many, many more than you see here--tables and chairs to sit and relax and half the price!

I know Disney standards are a whole other world, but this is crazy even by their standards!

Have booked for July and really looking forward to it. Each to their own. Can honestly say that I have never been disappointed in anything we have booked in disney and this will be our 8th visit. Now sea world that is a different story!!!!

See lots of folk are saying this but I cannot imagine sitting down while the fireworks are on. It's like a national anthem - I instinctively want to stand. I know a lot of folk feel this way but if I'd not read it, I wouldnt' have even noticed no seating.
