Well I did it today!

I took my almost £1000 worth of Tescos vouchers to the Gloucester Debenhams branch of Virgin Holidays to experinece my Rockstar Service....

I was very pleased that all the brochure upgrades such as SUV upgrade and superior villa for price of standard were still available to me despite my using Tescos vouchers.

I was even more pleased when the loevly chap who loked after me spent an hour making sure all the details were just right and even phoned head office to work out how to make sure I got my upgrade when the 'computer said no'......

He happily went out of his way to check the DC season dates for me (even though i had told him I wouldn't book that through virgin) then he told me he would be happy to post my vouchers to head office for me (special delivery) after all, he said, you've just spent 4 grand.....

It was a little thing, but as other people had been told to post their own, i was very pleased......

So thumbs up virgin.....

My customer service so far has been :goodvibes:thumbsup2:goodvibes:thumbsup2

Long may it continue.....

And :thumbsup2 to Richard at Gloucester Debenhams.

 Virgin Villa August 19-30th 2013.........

Aww thats so brilliant!!! Nice to hear of good customer service!!

Let the planning begin, HAPPY PLANNING :yay:

welcome to 2013 planning! We're going 13th to 29th August 2013 and I'm enjoying full planning mode at the moment (even if it is just wish lists rather than to do lists right now).

Nice to hear of some good customer service from Virgin. I hadn't realised you could take your Tesco vouchers (I assume once you've exchanged them from Clubcard to Virgin ones?) to one of the Virgin shops - might do that next time although on the other hand I do keep telling myself I need to put together a DIY package one of these days!

We also got a free car upgrade and also managed to get free V-Room (although personally I would happily pay for it as it was a fab way to start our last holiday).

:cool1::cool1: Always great to hear about good customer service, so glad you have a good experience!

Happy planning!!!

I like the dates you choose we always go 1st 2 weeks in sept but can't next year are the parks busy these 2 weeks I need to choose either 2 weeks mid jun or 2 weeks end of aug ???

Exciting stuff - time to start writing lists!:goodvibes

Thanks to all of you who took the time to welcome me to the WDW board..... :goodvibes

I am a bit more familiar with the DLRP boards at the moment, but its nice to see some 'familiar faces' here, who are obviously doing/ enjoying the memories of both parks....

I am glad to have got the great booking debate out of the way so i can spend my limited disboard research time on the other thing that really matters..... food!

Once I get back from DLRP at easter then its florida planning central here.....:surfweb:

Looking forward to getting to know you other 2013-ers better.... :rolleyes1

we went roughly the same dates in 2011 (9th to 31st) due to school holidays and not wanting to take the children out of school. I have to say that the first week we were there it was busy but it got noticeably quiet as our holiday went on as the American schools started to return (the return was staggered over 2 weeks and the local children didn't go back until the last week of our holiday). There was a fab free tax shopping weekend where there was no tax to pay on clothes and shoes (managed to fill a suitcase nicely!) which is designed to make things easier for parents getting ready for the new school year. We also didn't find the heat as much as a problem as we had anticipated but reading a few trippies from seasoned August travellers I get the impression that last year wasn't as hot as it has been in previous years. I always said I'd try August once just to see how it worked out and as we've booked the same dates for next year it can't have been too bad! Enjoy DLRP and I look forward to hearing about your plans as they progress.

Congratulations on your new booking, happy planning! :goodvibes

That's really good to hear about the end of August as we're hoping for our Disneymoon (and possibly Disney Wedding!) to be during end of August/beginning of September - other half is teacher so these are the only dates we can do :thumbsup2
