I`ve just booked a 2 bedroomed appartment at Cypress Pointe for 19 nights in August at a great price thru Alpha Rooms. (Still think its too good to be true and am waiting for the catch!!)

Thanks eveyone for all your help and advice (I`ve needed a lot of that)

I`m not booking car and tickets till after Christmas now, its all giving me brain ache as I`ve never done a big DIY like this before.

We'll be at CPGV this month, and I'll post when I get back as to how well everything went.

We booked through ebay and got a 2BR for $300 for the week, so I'm like you (still looking for the catch). I've called twice, and so far, our reservation is like it's supposed to be (still keeping my fingers crossed though).

Hi sbclifton, hope you have a wonderful holiday. Look forward to hearing how it was on your return. (only nice things though!!!)

Thats a great price, even better than the one I got. We are hoping for Phase 1, so if you can sus that out for me it would be most appreciated!! only joking.

Have a fab time.

Thanks! We went with phase II because of the elevators (didn't want to haul the luggage upstairs - my DD can be embarrassing when it comes to luggage ;) ).

Thanks, we're really starting to get excited now (let's see, 19 days, and we're THERE)!

It looks like AlphaRooms is lower than HotelKingdom for Cypress Pointe. Has anyone used them before? HotelKingdom is $111.51/night including tax for the 2 bedroom. AlphaRooms is $71 including all taxes/fees. It looks like Alpha Rooms has a steeper cancellation penalty (20% & up), where I believe HotelKingdom is $25, but as long as we're very sure that we're making the trip, Alpha Rooms looks like the much better deal! Any feedback on them?

I have mentioned this before, but we had our very best DisneyWorld experience at CP this past October. We have stayed at a couple of the moderates, Grand Beach (A time share), several motels, the Comfort Inn, and visited friends in quite a few other hotels at one time or another. We really liked Cypress Pointe. It's not a super modern luxury hotel, but it feels homey, it's clean and well maintained, it has very nice pools, and a staff that is supurb. Full kitchen, in house laundry, and everything you expect in a time share at a very small price compared to most. There are nicer hotels, but you pay more. I really would recommend this place to anyone. AND it's only about 5 minutes from DownTown Disney. Have a great trip.

Thanks, DFG, those are some of the reasons I booked it for. December is notorious for having changeable weather, and I'll have to pack for any eventuality. With the washer/dryer, I don't have to overpack any more than necessary (well, none of us will except my daughter, and that has nothing to do with the weather :lmao: ).

Plus, being so close to everything makes it very easy for her and her boyfriend to drive some places on their own without having trouble finding restaurants/shops/etc. - everything is so convenient.

I didn't book the Grand Floridian and don't expect that, but I'm positive that we're going to have a great trip and are going to find the CPGV more than comfortable and satisfactory!

WOW!!! What a bargain. I am looking for December 2007, therefore, unable to look up these dates yet.
Does anyone know if their prices stay the same for each night during the year for CPGV, like hotelkingdom? If so, this would be great over holiday periods.
Has anyone looked up a one bedroom at CPGV yet on alpha rooms? If so, what was the price per night?

I pulled them up to check my dates for December (2006), and it wasn't showing the same price that mareed got, so it apparently changes based on season. I think it was about $800 for my week. Still, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

We paid £710.03 for 19 nights in August (the $ rate was $1349.05 for the same 19 nights)

We went with them as they were the cheapest - find-rooms.com was only slightly more expensive.

Our flights are non refundable as we got them thru Opodo, so wasn`t too worried about the cancellation charges. If an emergency happens we have our travel insurance (who will hopefully pay out)

Considering the excellent prices I`ve only heard good reports about CP, it really appealed to us as it is so central and we can actually go out an eat if we wanted without taking the car all the time. (hubby has a degree in getting lost!! and I am a very nervous passenger especially when on the other side of the road)

My dates were 15 nights May/June 2007, and it was $71 for 2-bedroom, and $63.91 for 1 bedroom. 3-bedroom was $85.21. I did a spot-check for some dates in mid to late Dec. 2007 and it did seem to go up $10 - $20 a night (especially around XMAS).

Thanks for the all the info. I wasn't able to pull up Dec 2007 dates, so I will check again.

:thumbsup2

We had stayed at Cypress Pointe two years ago and really enjoyed our stay.
It was so nice to have the ammenities such as the kitchen, jacuzzi tub, living room with large T.V., washer & dryer, and the extra space for us all to unwind after a busy day. We couldn't imagine staying in a hotel after staying at Cypress Pointe. The location is another great advantage of this resort.
We are heading back this February and decided to try the Grande Villas this time. I thought of checking out other resorts but my husband and teenage daughter wouldn't hear of staying anywhere else, which was fine with me. We found the atmosphere very warm and relaxing and are looking forward to another stay.

Glad you enjoyed it Sandra22, another happy customer!! Hope you have a great time in February.

It really is encouraging that so many enjoy their time here.

We felt like the 2BR was plenty big enough for us. DD would get the extra BR, and her BF could have the couch.

But, we have friends who are also going with us who reserved two of the 2BRs, because her dad was going too. Now he's backed out (and it's non-refundable ;) ), her two girls and my DD can have their own "place" (or her son and DD's BF). We're going to have lots of room to go around (6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms for 9 people)! :teeth:

WE`ve booked 2 bedroomed as it will give Katie her own room, she does love to sleep on a sofa bed!!!! think its a novelty, but I`ve explained that she gets her own bathroom with her bedroom and she is very pleased. She also loves jacuzzi baths we won`t get a look in!

She's going to have a great trip! :goodvibes

remember this place does have construction - they are replacing the roofs.

they won't let anyone on the top floor of the resorts they are replacing the roofs in - so noise shouldn't be a problem.

I am going next week!!!! :yay: :bounce:
