Just booked Cypress Pointe

I did ask the question before booking and had favourable replies, if anything had been a bit negative I would have thought twice about it. Even though they charge brilliant rates per night it is still a lot of money!!

As I said I will e`mail Cypress Pointe before I go with a room request keeping my fingers crossed. I am sure if they started booking accomodations with no rooms at the other end it would cause them to go out of business.

You sometimes here about travel companies doing the same thing!! one one of the boards (can`t remember which one) I am sure someone turned up for Virgin flights and they were not on the flight details!! think small slips happend occasionally whoever you book with. Trouble is people don`t praise enough when they have a good time / holiday, so others know its a good company.

They are a reputable company! and your`ve got a great rate! when are you wanting to go?

We are going the second half of June. We stayed at Cypress Pointe last June, and also in Oct '04 and have enjoyed the resort very much.

Katies Dad - no offense - but I think some of us are waiting until you go and come back before trying a new booking site.

besides it being in England if there is a problem - harder for people in the US to get somebody to listen too them.

unless you know the owner and will post their email address or contact address?

We don`t go till August, so could be a long wait for some.

I`d not even given a second thought to `something going wrong with our booking` until it was mentioned. But I`m being very positive and hopeful.

Didn`t realise Alpha Rooms was a UK site, thought it was worldwide. All I can say is ......watch this space!! If I hear anything from them or anything crops up before we are due to go, I will certainly let you all know. Going to put it to the back of my mind now and try not worr that `we could be homeless in Orlando`!!!!!!!

I just called again this morning (yes, it's the third time  ), and they're still telling me the same thing - three 2BR condos for the 16th-23rd, paid in full, only need a credit card to swipe for a damage deposit ($50 hold).

Now the downside to that. The $300 per week is an incredible deal, but our plans have, sadly, changed a little bit now. :guilty:

First, our friend's dad decided not to go, because he wanted to move into his new house that week. Of course, it's non-refundable, so he won't get his money back, but since he's retired, he could have moved the next week if he had wanted to. It was his decision.

Now, my friend is not going to be able to go. She was injured recently and has had continued problems. She went to the doctor and physical therapist this week and found that she has a herniated disc and something is cracked. She can't ride that far in a car, and even if she flew instead, she can't ride the rides. :sad2: Of course, she can't get her money back either.

Her kids are heartbroken. I even offered to take the three of them with us (it's not like we won't have plenty of room  ), but their dad doesn't want to miss their first trip to Disney (can't blame him for that). They're hoping they "might" get to go in the Spring (but won't get to see the Christmas decorations).

I'm still looking forward to our trip, but it makes me sad that they can't go now. I feel really sorry for them. :sad1:

sbclifton, I've been reading about the great rate you landed on ebay! Could you tell me if this was through a private party or a rental agency? We're looking for a better rate at CPGV and could use any tips you could offer on how you got yours. Thanks in advance! Hope you have a wonderful trip! :sunny:

I found her on ebay. She's a Sunterra owner (I think I've got that right). She had 100% postitive feedback, and I emailed some of the people who had rented from her in the past (most of those were in Arizona - Sedona, etc.). They had all been very pleased.

After I get back, feel free to PM me, and if things go well, I'll be happy to share her contact info (that will be after Christmas). Right now, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have a problem when we get there, but I'll know for sure in a week or so ;) .

I have seen very similar rates in a couple of other places. Take a look at skyauction.com and getravelop.com (if you or anybody you know works for any type of government organization - school, etc., you can use it). I've seen this rate on them.

Also, keep a watch on the Cypress Pointe website. They have specials on there from time to time, and some of them have been really good.

Good luck!

we stayed at this resort in september ....

we obtained it on skyauction on a Home & Away auction that cost us 85$ including all fees ( using a 100 certificate they gave out with Home & Away auctions and 50$ July coupon so our bid was 235, then discounts )

the best part occurred when they asked us to get an update on the resort ....and gifted us 50$.....the net cost for the three bedroom thus worked out to 35$ for the week

alas, the home & away auctions are no longer there since the contract skyauction had with the rci offshoot....getawayweeks was either not renewed or not renegotiated
