I had bought seats on Frontier..but they cancelled my 6/18 flight and I received my refund over the weekend. So on a whim today I started searching for flights. I was VERY surprised to see an $83 flight on the southwest site but operated by AirTran. Even though it's airtran I'm getting 2 free checked bags! It wouldn't let me select seats though and said that Airtran will automatically assign us seats and we can request changes at the airport. That part makes me a little nervous, but I'm willing to give it a try for such a good price!

I'm wondering what it will mean for the Resort Airline Check In desk. They would be checking me in for Airtran, but I won't have luggage fees... hopefully they understand!

Yes... integration is finally starting with code sharing between the two. Be sure about luggage fees as the announcement said that if the flight is Airtran you will still pay fees... unless it is a connecting flight across both and then you will get the favorable SW no-fee.

Here in Rochester NY they are posting some SW flights as well before they eliminate Airtrain. Good news for us and hopefully SW will offer directs to MCO all year.

SWA told me that if you book an Airtran flight on the SWA site you will not pay a baggage fee. But if you book on Airtran site you will pay the fee.
