Just booked airfare and have a question

Hi,
Just booked with USairways for our trip in May. There are 4 of us traveling, including an infant. The rate was $200.50 r/t total per person, and our infant's fare for his seat was half, making for a grand total of $711, which I didn't think was all that bad from Philly.

I wasn't sure if I should wait and hope for lower rates, but at the same time, didn't want to take the chance and find only higher rates or lack of availability either.

So (finally), my question is, if USairways offers a lower rate, can the difference be credited back to me?

Us Airways will give you the difference in the price only if the fare is available on your flights for the total numnber pf passengers traveling. Fares might drop, but there might only be 3 seats in that fare class and a family traveling together must be all booked into the same class of service. So, if you want to check on fares, always place 5 passengers in, to see if fares have dropped. Also, you're refund will be delivered in terms of a voucher to be used towards future US Airways travel, no actual CC or cash refunds are given. Those vouchers are only good for a year from the date they are issued also.

US Air Lender Threatens to Liquidate It

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The chief executive of the primary lender to bankrupt US Airways Group (OTC BB:UAWGQ.OB - news) said he would liquidate the airline if unions refused to provide $200 million in additional wage and benefit concessions, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

David Bronner, CEO of the Retirement Systems of Alabama, said he did not expect to have to follow through on his ultimatum and predicted that cost-cutting discussions between the airline and its employees would result in an agreement by next week, The New York Times reported.

"What's their alternative?" Bronner asked rhetorically. "If they don't want to do this, we'll Chapter 7 it."

Alabama Retirement Systems has provided Arlington, Virginia-based US Airways with debtor-in-possession financing to help it operate while under bankruptcy protection. Bronner said that without the concessions, "we'll pull the DIP financing and they're gone."

Bronner's stance with the US Airways unions is an example of the tough stance analysts expect airlines to begin taking with employees now that a bankruptcy filing by UAL Corp.'s (NYSE:UAL - news) United Airlines is widely expected.

Executives at American Airlines' parent AMR Corp. (NYSE:AMR - news), traveling around the country to meet with employees, also have asked workers to forgo pay increases next year in order to trim expenses by $3 billion to $4 billion.

Not sure how conveinient it is for you but Allentown (ABE) actually has much cheaper flights. I paid $133 round trip pp. Actually saved me enough to book another 2 nights at ASMo. I figured close to $800 for 4 tx...actual cost $786 but got it all for $532.00. PHL and EWR are about the same distance for me (50 miles) and Allentown is 30. Don't have to be up at 3am!! lol
