Did a two bedroom and trying to conserve points I books Standard View...Had Sav. view on another trip and loved it but in a two bedroom it is a big difference in points...Will I regret not having Sav. view?

Also the only thing they can put me in was a two bedroom lock off? Does this mean anything?

Thanks!

We have done both. Our standard view was overlooking the Kidani bus stop from the 5th floor. We would have preferred a view of the pool area, but they could not accommodate that when we checked in. We did the standard view in December, so it was dark by the time we got back from the park every day. There are plenty of areas to view the savannah around the building, so we did not find it to be that big of a deal, and we liked conserving points for our next trip. If you spend lots of time in your room and like to hang out on the balcony, you will probably miss the view. We tend to spend very little time in the room, so it was not a big deal for us. We have a standard view booked for our next trip to Kidani as well.

The lock-offs have a separate entrance for the 2nd BR (studio), but still have a "lock-off" door between what is the 1BR villa and studio. The 2nd BR will have a kitchenette, 1 queen bed and a full size sleeper sofa. This may make a difference for you, depending on how many need beds.

Thanks for the response...On the lock off...What is the main difference on the studio side...Sounds like a sleeper sofa and a queen...Vs. Two beds...Is this accurate?

AKV 2 BR lock-off:

Consists of connecting One Bedroom and Studio:
-Value rooms can accommodate a party of 8, all others can accommodate 9 (plus child under age 3 in crib)
-Master bedroom with king size bed
-Master bathroom has whirlpool tub. Rooms in Kidani Village have two additional bathrooms. Rooms in Jambo House have one additional bathroom
-Second bedroom has Queen size bed and full size sleep sofa
-Queen size sleep sofa in living room
-Sleeper chair in living room (not available in Value rooms)
-Flat panel TV and DVD player in living room
-Flat panel TV's in the two bedrooms
-Fully equipped kitchen
-Stacked washer/dryer
-Private balcony
-945- 1075 square feet in Jambo House
-1173 square feet in Kidani Village

I believe the value 2BR lock-offs are at Jambo House and only sleep 8. The studio/2nd BR portion will have a kitchenette and the balcony for that portion of the room will have a wall separating it from the rest of your balcony.

We have never stayed in a lock-off, but this is info I have seen from other threads and websites. Have a great time!

I hated our standard view at Kidani...total parking lot.

We also booked it to save points and I regretted it.

Depending on the time of year you might not have much viewing time in the room anyway....when we went during the winter very few animals were out in the morning before we left for the parks and most evenings it was dark by the time we came back so the view was a waste.

On the other hand we had a standard view during the fall and we watched the most amazing sunsets from our balcony a lot of evenings....they were spectacular. If you get a unit farther down on the side behind the check in desk (I think that is the north end of the resort)....you look out on grassy open land and get to watch the sunsets (but put on your hiking boots to get to the lobby!)

We just got back from a 1 Bedroom, Kidani, standard view. We enjoyed it very much. The resort is beautiful. We were on the 4th floor and we looked out at the beautiful scenery, the gazebo, and bball courts were in the distance. The main road was out there as well, and if I went to the edge of my balcony and looked straight down there was a valet parking lot with about 3 cars.

We had a savanna view last year, and we wanted to save points this year. We still were able to see animals at other places in the resort. I was not disappointed at all.

Thanks for the replies...It is a big point dif. so I think I'm going to preserve my points...I was in Jambo last time and looking forward to Kidani this time...
