My ex had a wheat intolerance, it is in EVERYTHING![]()
Yep. I got very good at reading labels. Not just of food, but soaps, lotions, make up - you name it.
I get really annoyed when people say they have an allergy to something, but they don't really. If you don't like something just say so. A dislike won't kill you, an allergy will!. I used to take two different preventative medications 3 times a day, then I had two puffers, pills and a nebuliser for when the preventative stuff didn't work, and if all else failed it was an ambulance and the hospital. At least once a week. Okay off my soap box now.
And a (now) funny story (it wasn't at the time). When hubby and I first started dating we had dinner at his parents, she didn't believe I'm allergic to seafood and used a minute amount of something in the recipe she made. She figured if I didn't know I was eating it that I would like it. Now I tell everyone my MIL tried to kill me the first time we met
