I would die if I lived in Canada!!

I was looking forward to having some time to save up money when I finally paid the Civic off. Sigh. No matter what we're getting a used car, but I can afford a newer used car if I put down all that we get for my car. I would like to spend no more than $11,000 preferably. The lower the car payments are, the better. I was looking at some Toyota Corollas like the rental I'm driving and the dealership my friend works for has a couple of 2005's in the $10,000 range so I'm leaning towards one of them at the moment.

If I may. I recieved a settlement payment many years back from GNC of around $8000. I bought my grand am (2004, a year old at the time) from Hertz. Their used cars are previous rentals but have to pass a brutal inspection before Hertz will sell them. If they don't pass, the rentals go to auction. My car had 25,000 when I bought it. It still runs like a dream. It's price tag was $12,000, I put half down and my payments were like $141/month.

:thumbsup2 Nice deal. We've been looking through Enterprise as well about their cars but so far nothing has stuck out for me.

This will be a quick post, using my iPhone and it sucks to type. We are at LAX waiting for our flight to Sydney. We had a great 3 days at Disneyland, and the weather was warm and sunny.

Jazz, I hope they payout on your car quickly. We have a Toyota (a yaris, which is smaller than a corolla), we've had it 2 years and love it. Mileage was, it costs $33 USD to fill (11 gallons) and we drove from BC to Portland on one tank. Well over 300 miles on a tank of gas.

Merrydeath, I love your tree and your stockings.

Michelle, I hope your day and weekend improved.

I hope everyone else is having a great week.

That is great mileage.

It has improved thank you.

Continue to have a wonderful time!!

Wishing you safe travels for your flight! I'm glad to hear you had a good time at Disneyland and I hope you continue to have a great time!!

Toyotas do seem to be good cars and the mileage isn't far off from what I had before. I've seen the Yaris before, I know what you're talking about ;)

The sun is a big reason I would love to move to SoCal!
Hmmm, is that the *only* reason? ;) :rotfl:

I know I found with my van was only a year old with low mileage. and being used was soooo much cheaper.
That is the BEST when you can find a deal like that :thumbsup2 I have a friend who got her Acura MDX (ummm super nice SUV, I'm jealous) that way - they got it barely used, at a steep discount. Cars lose literally thousands in value once driven off the dealer's lot.

Yay, how fabulous :goodvibes My friends that are staying at DLR for almost 2 whole weeks :scared1: are there and she has been posting about the weather - it's like summer! Of course, the forecast for our trip is rain, again :sad2: I am determined to make the best of it though :goodvibes

Long! But for good and fun reasons so I can't complain.
We were up at 700 for Disney, it's now 830pm. Our flight leaves in 2 hours.

Going home always makes confused. I understand about the dateline and different timezones, really I do. But it still gets me that we leave at 1030pm on Monday, spend 14 hours in the air, but arrive in Sydney at 10am on 2
Wednesday. We lose a whole day.

That's a long day right there, hopefully you'll sleep on the flight? I'm terrified of flying so sleep doesn't happen easily. I would hope that if for some reason I was on a flight that long I could sleep no problem but I still think it would be hard for the majority of the flight.

But yeah ... that flight logic doesn't always add up to me either. It boggles my mind.

I do know what you mean alright.

I am so glad there are only three more days of school, before three lovely weeks of sleeping in.

Oh I hope I sleep. Normally DH says I'm going to sleep now and he does. I just get uncomfortable and frustrated. This time my bootcamp instructor recommended melatonin pills. So hopefully that will help.

I'm not sure which is worse, going home or coming back. Coming back we leave Sydney at 325 pm on the 27th, but we land in LA at 10am on the 27th, so we arrive in the US several hours before we leave Australia!
