I have never liked the new monorail spiel. The guy seems robotic and uninteresting. We liked the guy previous to the current version. My husband is a voice actor - which is why I think I caught this, but I loved when I called Member Services today and realized that the 'voice' prompts were none other, than the guy who did the older monorail! :thumbsup2

Sorry! I realize this is rather pointless, I just thought it was a fun thing.

The one line they have never changed is the iconic, "Please Stand Clear of the Doors. Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas." This remains the voice of Jack Wagner, who was the original voice on the Walt Disney World monorail when the park opened in 1971. He also recorded many other announcements that were used at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. He passed away in 1995. I guess they keep that one message as a tribute.

In 2004, the other monorail messages were re-recorded by voice actor Joe Hursh. He's also the voice heard on the Disney Transportation buses. You'll also hear him around other places at Walt Disney World, too.

In 2012, the monorail recordings were replaced again. This time, by Tom Kane. He also does voices on Disney's animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."
