We are just back from a fabulous 4 night 5 day vist to the world.

1. Port Orleans French Quarter is a wonderful resort. We stayed in room 4129 and it was awesome! Very close to transportation and food court. Benigets were awesome!!

2. Every single CM we encountered was friendly and helpful.

3. Best Friends Pet Care was great!! Highly recommend them!!

4. We attended the Sunday Oct 2nd MNSSHP and had an awesome time. I have been to 1 other MNSSHP and 2 MVMCP and I think this is the best party I have been to. I think it is all about expectations and having a strategy. Crowds were managable. We arrived at about 530. My priorities were Villians show, parade, fireworks, and trick or treating. We only rode Splash and Space mountians. We did not take pics with characters. We watched the Villians show at 745 in front of the castle at the edge of the street and then turned around and sat down for 815 parade and stayed put until the fireworks at 930. This strategy worked out great for us as we had great seats for all 3 shows. We trick or treated at a few of the places and left by 1030.

5. We could not have asked for better weather. No rain at all. Highs in mid 80s. We wore shorts and tshirts. It was a little chilly at night, so if you get cold easily like I do, then bring a light sweater.

6. Hoop Dee Do review, Grand Floridian Cafe, and Garden Grill were all excellent (esp the NY strip at GFC)!! We also had excellent service!! While at HDDR, a lady had a full blown seizure and I have to commend the staff and other caring visitors who stopped everything and helped her until the amublance arrived. Thankfully, she was okay (after seizing for a few minutes) and the show continued.

7. Crowds were very managble. We utilized the fass pass system and were able to avoid long waits. The longest we waited stand by was 25 minutes for RRC because my son insisted! We were able to ride everything we wanted 2 or 3 times.

8. Bus system was great! We never waited more that 5 or 10 minutes for a bus.

Feel free to ask questions!!

I was in building 4 once, corner room closest to the Food Court. What a location! Did you go up to POR and try their different Food Court offerings? We did this a few times. Took the bus back from the park to POR, instead of POFQ. Walked back to POFQ. Did you get a chance to take the boat to DTD?

Will be at POFQ in 12 days for short trip. 4th time staying there. My kids love the resort and it is so much fun. Happy to hear you had a great time.:banana::banana:

I love the POFQ. My DH and I stayed there pre-kid for our 5th anniversary. We also stay there pre-criuse nights. I'm so glad they are converting to queen beds so we can stay for longer stays next time.

That was our location too. Literally just a few steps from the food court. It was great. I didn't visit POR nor did we go to DTD. Next time we go, I am going to plan a day just to hang out at the PO resorts.

I'm staying there soon! So excited! Do you have pictures of your room view?

I didn't take pictures of our view. I did request a room in building 4. We were so close to everything including the pool, hot tub, and laundry.

Yay!:yay: Nice trip report, super glad that you had a great time!

I got to stay in POFQ in March and I  it! Such a pretty, serene, relaxing and encompassing atmosphere.

Glad you had a great trip!! Especially at MNSSHP ~ seems like it has been hit or miss for a lot of people. )By the way, love your shirt in your siggy ~ war eagle!)

Thanks for the trip report! It's refreshing to know that someone came back w/o a major complaint.:scared1:

Thanks for letting me know what building to request! We are headed to POFQ after Thanksgiving and was just thinking about which building. We have walked the resort grounds while staying at POR, and it's not that anything is a long walk at POFQ, but that sounds very convenient. (Then again, maybe I should request farthest away from the food court to walk off some beignet-calories each time!)

3. Best Friends Pet Care was great!! Highly recommend them!!

Can you tell me a little about them?

I know (or at least I think) when there were kennels on Disney property (ie, the campground and hotels, as well as the parks) the pet owners had to come back every few hours to walk their dogs. :confused3

That's one reason why we've always kenneled our dog at home (he actually really likes the kennel in our hometown). But my boys would love to bring him to Disney with us next time we camp at Fort Wilderness. It just seemed like if you had to come back several times/day to walk, it'd chew up a lot of park time.

Just curious if it's more of a 'full service' now - for lack of a better word.

Thanks! Glad you had a great time at POFQ. We had dinner next to a couple at the 50's Prime Time last trip who said they always stay there and love it. I might need to try it, just for the begniets!

.

Well, "Cody" is my husband's dog and the love of his life. He was extremely pleased with them and he is very picky. I know they walked him but I am not sure how often. He also got a bath and haircut one day. They have several different packages and services. It was pretty reasonably priced too.

Glad to hear Garden Grill and Grand Floridian are excellent as they are our only 2 ADR's when we go in 5 weeks. :thumbsup2

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.

We just got back today from POFQ and we went to the 10/2halloween party too! I agree with everything you said. Wonderful resort, great party and beautiful weather!
