We spend Friday-Sunday at the Dolphin and had a great time! :sunny:

Here's where we ate:

Friday morning we had breakfast at Fresh (at the Dolphin). Great place! They have made-to-order pancakes (the special that day was Cherry Chocolate!), eggs, really good sausage (I think it was rosemary & tarragon), bacon, made-to-order omelettes (I had turkey, cheese, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and green pepper), fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juices (they have all the fruit there--you just tell them what kind you want and they squeeze it for you!). It also comes with coffee or tea.

We went to Epcot on Friday, so for lunch I had a bratwurst & saurkraut (minus the bun because I'm watching my carbs) from Germany. They are always good! :)

For dinner we went to Boma. Wow! This place is great! Prime rib, marinated sirloin steak, baked chicken, salad with really good dressings (I loved the Cilantro Chili Vinegarette), roasted mixed vegetables, 4 different soups, mac & cheese, and a fantastic dessert selection!! I know there was more there, I just can't think of it all! It was a huge buffet!

Saturday morning we walked down to the Boardwalk Bakery, and I had a breakfast burrito. They're HUGE and filled with scrambled eggs, ham, and cheese. I cut it in half, and scooped the insides out with a fork and just left the empty tortilla! (Again, cutting back my carbs) There was plenty there to fill me up, because they really stuff those things full!

We went to Magic Kingdom that day, so I had a turkey leg for a snack. Yum!! Then, we went to Pecos Bills for lunch for cheeseburgers. They have a great build-your-own burger bar filled with veggies, fried onions, sauteed mushrooms, etc.

For dinner we ate at 'Ohana - one of my favorite places!! The wontons are still my favorite part! LOL! But, the steak, turkey, pork, and shrimp are also very good. And, they just kept coming back and back and back with more and more food! I thought I would have to be rolled out of there! LOL! To drink, I had a "Backscratcher" (rum, juice and Jack Daniels - around $9). Yummy!

Sunday we went to Animal Kingdom. IMO, Animal Kingdom is the worst place for eating - especially breakfast!! We tried to find breakfast someplace, and had a really hard time! The only two places that serve breakfast are Rainforest, and Tusker House. Tusker House was only open for 1 hour (9:30-10:30) and only had one choice for breakfast: eggs, bacon or sausage, and potatoes. All pre-made and shipped in there, not fresh. So, we went back to the entrance and had breakfast at Rainforest. It was pretty good! I had steak & eggs. They are supposed to come with potatoes, so I asked for something different than potatoes and the server told me there were no other choices that were low-carb. I looked over the menu and saw that they do offer black beans with another breakfast choice, so I took them instead. Better than potatoes, anyway. DH had a breakfast pizza that was fantastic!

We headed home Sunday afternoon, so that's it! Any questions? :)

Yummy sounds like you had a great time. I agree with you on AK not much in the way of choices.

Thanks for sharing!!! I love all of the places you listed. We even have PS for some on our upcoming trip :earsgirl:

Sounds delicious. We are going to eat our way around WDW. I love planning out our dining schedule!!! Can't wait to try Boma's!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

What type of restaurant is Ohana?? Also, where is it located. I am trying to figure out where to go for our anniversary and just saw some bad reviews on the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Thanks. :cool1:

:cool1:

Your post is great!;-)

We will be a WDW next week and cannot wait!

The Patriots one and that too, what a deal!!!
;-)

I LOVE O'Hana's and the backscratchers!
:flower:
Boma is also very good.

I am not too big on the turkey legs, what "kind" of turkey do they come from??LOL I just think they must be full of steroids or something?!
Although DH tried them a few years back, smelled like bacon and he said it was good! All I have been craving is that spicy hot shrimp from O'hanas and that lime salad! YUMMIE!
It's only breakfast time here, but I could go for some right now!

Thanks again for the delicious posting!!!

Thanks for the great reviews!!!
I have a couple questions about Fresh. You said they have made to order pancakes and the special that day was cherry chocolate. Do they also have regular plain pancakes along with the special, or is the special of the day your only choice for pancakes?
Also, you mention juice, coffee or tea. Do they offer soda here for breakfast? I plan to go here in July, but Iknow I cant eat without my diet coke. ;)

Ohana is a all you can eat sit down meal where they bring you appetizers and skewers of steak, shrimp, chicken & pork -- and they keep coming back until you burst!!! They have hula hoop contests and coconut races for the kids!!! If you plan it at the right time - you can see the fireworks while you are eating dinner!! That's what we did for our trip on our first night -- St. Pattys Day!!

Rhonda, thanks for the post on where you ate! I love when people share their expeirences. Especially the restaurants because I hate to waste $ on food if it's going to be terrible..I'd just as well eat a hot dog. I have a question about BOMA. Was it pretty spicy and do you think my 9 yo DD and 2 yo DD will like it? We'll be eating dinner there as well. TIA

I am always eager to read of others low carb eating around the World. You have added a couple of interesting choices to my next trips meal plan. Thank you so much for posting.

Hi! Yes, they offer pretty much any kind of pancake you want! Nobody in our party asked for soda, but I'm sure it would be included if you ask. They were pretty nice about everything!

PBHarris4 : Some of the food was spicy, but not all of it. There were plenty of choices for picky eaters, kids, etc. I cannot stress enough how HUGE this buffet is! LOL!!

Boma's was my 4 yo favorite restaraunt. We even left the MK to come back to the hotel to eat at it again because he wanted to go to the "place where I ate a lot of food". They have a great kid's station: spaghetti noodles/meatballs, mac and cheese, chicken strips, and tons of fresh fruit. We ate there 3 times during our trip.

We love FRESH too! They'll make almost anything you'd like as long as they have the ingredients. I'm getting hungry thinking about it :earboy2:

I agree with you about AK. Don't know what it is. Tusker House seems to be the only place we eat at there and I don't love it. The only other breakfast is Donald's Breakfastorous but that's anything but quick. RF is ok but that also took forever last time we were there. They can definitely use 1 or 2 more decent restaurants there.

Boma sounds really good, we need to try it sometime but we always end up at it's neighboring restaurant, JIKO's cause we just love it!

Enjoyed your reviews. Isn't Fresh great for breakfast? Cherry chocolate pancakes...oh, my!
