Hi All-
This board was such help in our planning that I thought I would report back on our dinner dining experiences. Traveled with DD who is 6 1/2 and myself so the restaruants were chosen with both in mind.
First Night- Chef Mickey's- a big hit with DD. This was her favorite. Adult buffet was good but not great. However, the atmosphere and characters totally got you in the Disney spirit. We followed dinner with a Monorail ride around the resort loop and even got the front car.
Donald's Breakfastausarus- had an 7:50 PS. Bus transport was lacking here and a long ride from WL to AK so we were a bit late arriving at 8:05. It seemed chaotic at the entrance since they make you wait to be escorted to Dinoland. Breakfast buffet was HUGE!! Lots of variety. There was a crowd of people waiting outside when we left just after 9. If we had an early seating again, I would take a taxi.
Hoop De Doo- fun dinner show. I had seen this twenty years ago...and it hasn't changed! Basic American fare of Fried Chicken, Beans, Ribs, Salad, Cole Slaw and Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Good to experience once.
O'hana- Excellent!!! Good for both kid's and adults. Lots to watch and DD was able to do the Coconut Races and Hula Hoops. Lots of food as they keep coming by to make sure you have what you need. Great for meat eaters- beef, pork, chicken and shrimp on massive skewers being delivered to your table. Good desserts and the best coffee of the trip! Requested a window seat to watch the sun go down and then finished in enough time to wander out to the Poly beach to watch the fireworks.
Cinderella's Royal Table for Breakfast- a real treat! Good breakfast too- started with fresh fruit, granola and yogurt followed by a plated serving of scrambled eggs, sausage, and a blueberry blintz as well as assorted breads. Great setting and a thrilled DD got all the autographs of the Princesses. We had a 8:55 PS but checked in at 8:10 and were seated right away.
Boma- Another hit. Fabulous!! Such interesting variety of African dishes- full of flavor. They have a kid's buffet too so DD was happy with her meal while Mom sampled all of Africa- or so it seemed. Would definately do again.
Liberty Tree Tavern- paired this with MNSSHP which was great fun. Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Meeko were all there and wearing Halloween costumes. Traditional American Thanksgiving type meal- Salad, Pork, Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing,Green Beans, Mac & Cheese, Salad and Cherry Cobbler for dessert. DD declared it was 'just like Thanksgiving'. Of course, you have to put it into perspective that LTT is sponsored by Stouffer's so you kind of get the picture! Still fun and nice to be in the park before MNSSHP.
Would definately do Chef Mickey's, Cindy's, O'hana and Boma again!
Happy eating!
