Hi everyone...we're just back after a week in the world. We stayed in an offsite villa with a full kitchen so we ate a few meals there, but we did try...

Chef Mickey's: We did this for dinner on Sat. 11/30, and it was crowded. We were not seated in the main dining room, but rather off to the side against a wall near the beginning of the buffet area. The kids loved it--especially the napkin twirling--and both had plenty to eat. I thought the food was okay, DH liked most of his and had a big helping of the peel and eat shrimp. He got sick over night and the next morning, though, with stomach cramps and other, um, really unpleasant stuff...:( . He was the only one of the four of us who got sick and it was only over a period of a few hours, so he's convinced it was the shrimp, since the rest of us didn't have any. The character interaction was rushed, but it was our first experience with it so the kids were happy anyway! Overall, we were glad to have tried it once, and enjoyed the generally festive atmosphere, but DH says "not again".

Biergarten: I debated about eating here when I was planning the vacation, but DH was lukewarm about the idea. One night when we were at Epcot, we wandered into the area, peeked in
and checked out the menu and decided to make a PS for dinner on our last night there. We loved it. The kids loved the show, DS9 enjoyed most of the food, but DD6 was incredibly picky (on the whole trip, as it turned out  ) and barely ate a thing. DH and I both loved the food (especially the roast pork and sauerbraten) and enjoyed the show and the atmosphere. We would do this again. BTW, we cancelled an 'Ohana PS for this night to do Biergarten because we were planning to be in Epcot our last night and didn't want to leave the park. I do regret not trying 'Ohana, though we really enjoyed Biergarten.

Rainforest Cafe (Downtown Disney): DH had been to an RC before, but it was a new experience for the kids and I. We arrived at about 2 pm. and had to wait about 25 min. to be seated, and though our server was pretty good, the service was a little slow in my opinion. We enjoyed our meal. Loved the atmosphere. Interestingly, we were there on Thurs. 12/5 during an afternoon downpour (later, it rained again and continued most of the night) and DD thought Disney was responsible for the rain! DH had the Chimi Cha-Cha which he liked, but said it was a little heavy on the cilantro; DS9 and I shared an RF burger with bacon, which was huge and perfect for sharing; and DD6 had the Jurassic Chicken Tidbits and (hooray!) finished her meal. We all had frozen Raspberry lemonades--yum!

We also ate at the food court in the Land Pavillion in Epcot--all of us had the BBQ sandwiches and enjoyed them. We tried Pizza Planet in the Studios for lunch and liked our meal there (cheese and pepperoni pizzas). We also tried Cosmic Rays in the MK and had the rotisserie chicken meal (okay) which fed the 4 of us just fine. Sonny Eclipse was cute too!

We tried beavertails (strawberries and cream, cinnamon sugar, and the chocolate hazelnut--yummy!), Dole Whips, and various frozen treats (Mickey bars, the strawberry bars, Toll House cookie ice cream sandwiches, the chocolate one with the caramel, and the kids loved the Itzakadoozies--I think that's what they're called) and enjoyed them all! :D

Welcome home and thanks for the review! :)

What are Itzakadoozies? I'm curious! :)

Thanks for the review and sorry about Chef Mickey's!

I love to hear the good side of Disney dining!
We love Biergarten! I have 2 DS 5 & 4, they love it!
Sorry you didn't get to try Ohana. We enjoyed our first and only dinner experience there. Maybe you can try it next trip.
Planning yet?:p

Misti,

Itzakadoozies (I sure hope that's spelled correctly!) are long, multi-colored twisted popsicles. I didn't try them myself, but my kids loved them. They were available at the little ice cream carts located around the parks.

AllisonG,

Yes--I admit it!! I'm planning again (shhhhh...don't tell DH--even though he had a great time, he says he won't be ready to go back to WDW for awhile. I'm hoping it's a short while...;) ).
