I have been over 30+ times. I've been during spring break and July 4 and other busy times. We normally have a plan to get there at opening and hit as many rides as poss until it just gets too crowded. We went with another family that couldn't ever manage to get there at RD, but each day we were there by 10 am. The lines were INSANE. This is definitely due to FP+. I have seen crowds like this before. But to have 60 min waits for Safari, Buzz, Pirates, etc by 10 am makes the RD to lunch time commando way of doing this IMPOSSIBLE. I don't like FP+. We picked up our tickets at will call so I didn't have to pay to have them shipped to me. That was another 30 min line. Then to get FP+ inside the park there was yet another 30-45min line to then go stand in another line at God only know what time. WHY does this make sense to anyone? FP- wasn't broken. They had 5-7 kiosks at each ride for FP- and now they might have 7 total kiosks to do them ALL. AND now the wifi is awful. So many people on it that we couldn't even get the wait times app to work. Disney - PLEASE DROP THIS - it is awful. This will definitely reduce or eliminate our visits. They made a lot of $$ off my family as we like to stay in the nicer resorts. How anyone cannot connect the wait times and the FP+ I do not know. Trust me, I saw parts of the Safari line that I didn't even know existed. I've been on it like 15 times. ugh I want a do over.

We did 8 days last Oct and 5 this month and our experiences were positive. We did every bit as many attractions during the same hours as any of our 15 previous WDW vacations and FP+ benefited us in that we hop to Epcot every afternoon and now we can have FastPasses waiting for us. With FP- by the time we got to Epcot Soarin' or TT would be sold out or so late as to be useless to us. As for being tethered to slow company, in Oct my SIL and BIL were with us, they are not morning people so we just hit RD ourselves and met them later. 10 am or later featured insane lines before FP+.

I love FP+ better than the FP-. Speak for yourself when judging FP+ as it didn't work for you while visiting during your Spring Break visit. Had this happened in September then I'd be more understanding. Don't bash on FP+ believers, like my family, that have used this service and love it. Even after it rolled out to everyone, it's still easy to use and extremely convenient. Here's a free tip: Go at night during parades and Wishes to get on several rides with lower wait times. You're welcome.:rolleyes1

And what about those people that used it and had a good experience? I guess they're drinking the kool aid? FP+ doesn't really affect me one way or another. Guess I'm drinking the kool aid too.

Your title is extremely condscending. Some people do actually like the benefits of FP+ over the old system. They simply have a different touring style than you do and does not mean that they are wrong in their opinion.

I have experienced FP+ and I did like it for what it gave me. I was never the type to use more than a few FPs a day though. The system does have flaws too of course. One big one was the kiosk thing for off-site guests (sounds like you were). That is being corrected by aallowing 30 day advance booking, which should help with that.

For the person who just got back, could the lines have been really long because it was extremely busy? Magic Kingdom was close to capacity just two days ago. But I guess that had nothing to do with the long lines.

Thanks, I really appreciate being told I'm an idiot. :confused3

We used FP+ last December. It worked quite well for us, and there were elements of it that I enjoyed very much. It meshed nicely with our personal touring style.

As my husband put it, "It's convenient!" He likes planning from the comfort of our own home, before we even arrive. I've always had a touring plan, and FP+ is just another element to work in. We got a real kick out of the novelty of riding coasters in the evening, at our second park of the day.

Just because someone has a different opinion from you doesn't mean they've "drunk the Kool Aid". I'm not stupid, deluded or a fool. I'm spending my money where I want to spend it and getting exactly the kind of vacation I want. If that ever ceases to be the case, I won't whine or moan... I'll go somewhere else. So far, though, I'm enjoying the changes.

Just because you're miserable doesn't mean everyone else has to be miserable, too. At most, it simply means you need to find a different way to do thing or a different place to vacation. Don't go during Spring Break. Get your tickets shipped to you and set up your account early. Prebook your FP+ online. Have a solid touring plan which takes into account your late arrival. Not all of my friend would enjoy a Disney vacation, regardless of FP, and that's fine. I still respect them!

I think your kool-aid characterization is unfair, because many people are not experiencing problems. I do believe more of them, however, should demonstrate more critical thinking and consider the experiences other people are having (like yours) in assessing the integrity of the system.

I've tried to convey to my daughter as she's grown that if someone is nice to her but mean to someone else, that means he is not a nice person, and will eventually be mean to her; "but he's nice to me" doesn't mean much. It's true of systems like NextGen as well.

Can someone flag this thread to be use as an exhibit of people insulting those that like FP+ for the next time the accusation that all the name calling is coming from people who like FP+

We just got back. We liked FP+ as in we got to at least ride some rides. It was soooooo busy. We went last year for spring break and it wasn't like this. I think the multiple hs bands and the filiming of The Middle contributed to the crowds. Our trip was still enjoyable, but the parks were crowed.

We got back 3/9, and had no problem using FP+, MB, or the in park wifi. I guess your problems, OP, were stemming from the time you chose to take your vacation. More people= longer lines.

Everyone who doesn't have the same preferences I do is wrong!

Geez.

Exactly, if you don't love it you're a hater or an abuser or obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Us vs. them is just as bad coming from your side of the fence as it is coming from theirs. It's sad some people can't see that.

It's just really getting old

The bottom line is that there is always going to be mixed views on FP+ since it does change how to approach trip planning and visits. For some it is a significant change to many others it means very little difference. It is simply wrong and rude to be overly critical of any view on FP+ and it is incorrect to make assumptions on who likes FP+ or how many people plan and view their WDW experience.

Plus it will be months perhaps a year before anyone including WDW really has good assessment of the impact of FP+ especially with the continued roll out to all guests, time for all guests to understand and get comfortable with MBs and FB+, and the continued additions and changes to the system that will no doubt occur.

Thinking critically...

I don't see any reason to believe that FP+ is suddenly going to turn around and start abusing me. :rotfl: It's not my boyfriend. It's just a system that happens to mesh well with my style of touring, something that isn't likely to change.

I know a lot of people are saying that attendance is not up that much, and maybe it's not overall, but as I have said, FP+ did NOT cause the closure the MK Parking Lot the other day. There are just that many people there this week. Now, FP+ may not be helping in that regard, but that's a different topic.
