Just Back - Things to not worry about. Things to worry about.

We love Maine Lobster. So much that we decided to become them on our honeymoon cruise last year. I will go back to Castaway Cay this June ARMED with sunscreen and reapply every hour. :) I am determined.

UGh. I wish I took your advice - we were just silly - we figured our SPF 30 would last us for most of the day, we got Lobsterized. LOTS of pain, and something I will NEVER let happen again.

Thanks for posting this - i hope it saves someone elses hiney. :)

I wasn't going to post, but I am...

I have olive colored skin and can keep a tan all year long. I never have to go to a tanning bed. I was one of those people who would say "I never burn!". I would put on sunscreen one time and it was always a low spf. I am always in the sun. We go to Florida at least three times a year, we have a pool and we go boating every weekend in the the summer.

Then last year I got burnt on my upper chest. I did not think it was bad and never had a second thought. Put then it started to blister and bleed. I went to the doctor (we were going back to Florida in two weeks) and I was told that I had a bad case of Sun poisoning. After getting a lecture from the doctor, he then told me that I was very prone to getting skin cancer. I had damaged my skin. Now I can not go out without having 50 spf on and I usually wear a shirt. It was a rude awakening for me. Now my daughter has darker skin than I do and I now drence her in high spf sunscreen every few hours.

Do not take the sun for granted!
