We had dinner at California Grill, while watching Wishes we stood next to the man who did the musical score for the show. He said the girl who sang the song was only 12. He also said Disney spends $85,000 per show on the fireworks --WOW.

A bus driver told us Disney employees are now living in the treehouses.

A CM who worked at Mara told us the dining plan was working great and Disney had made a committment to it through 2007.

Another bus driver told us that after Everest opens another major roller coaster attraction will be announced to help Disney compete with Universal.

Other than the guy at California Grill, I don't put that much stock in the other statements but it is always fun to speculate.

wow $85,000..thats crazy but they are so wonderfuly done!

hehe cant wait to hear about the new rollercoaster! im just so excited to ride EE and from what ive heard thats the best one so far so i cant imagine the next one!

thanks for all the info!

Disney college program employees are indeed living in the treehouses.

I don't know about the other things, but $85,000 per Wishes performance wouldn't suprise me. Fireworks are very expensive.

I just returned also, took the boat to DTD and noticed the treehouses were occupied. You answered a question I had wondered about.

That's odd - I'm friends with people in the college program and no one has once mentioned anything about treehouses. Just Vista, Chatham, and the Commons....

I'm just curious-do you remember the name of the man who did the musical score for "Wishes"? DS was lucky enough to meet the man who did "Fantasmic", but I don't know if he did "Wishes".

My WDW trivia book says the fireworks for Illuminations cost $35,000 per night so that's probably about right for Wishes.

I totally believe the $85,000 dollar price tag for fire works. I remember reading an article in Time magazine in 1985 that said they spent $25,000 then.

A new rollercoaster wouldn't surprise me. I think it'd be nice if it went in at MGM, I think they need another attraction and wouldn't it be fun if it was Monsters Inc. themed?!

I think everything is probably up in the air now with Disney buying Pixar and John Lasseter being put in charge of Imagineering. I heard that some projects have been put on temporary stop until he can review everything.

Simba's Mom -- I don't remember his name. HE was a tall guy with glasses and lighter brown hair. :confused3 I know not much help.

Mr. Lasseter is not in charge of WDI. He is in charge of WDFA and is only a creative advisor for WDI. Goodman, Fitzgerald and Sklar are still in charge of WDI.

I've been expecting a ride based on those scenes in the door room since the first time I saw Monsters. It's tailor-made to be a ride!

The treehouses are housing foreign students

Wow, that's pretty cool! I'm going to have to visit my friends so they can take me to these treehouses. Sounds out of this world. :)

Oh me too! It would be amazing :thumbsup2 . I noticed there's a new monsters inc ride in California, but seems to be more of the peter pan kind from what i can work out. Not really sure though.

Totally understand why they feel the need to keep up with universal. They have one major advantage though- disney has magic :wizard: , universal doesn't (IMHO!).

The Monster's Inc. ride in DL is more comparable to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The guests are in cars that move along a track, with all kinds of turns and jerks, cool lighting tricks, etc.

Not trying to get off topic but in DL is the ride basis goign through the door scene or is it just going through the movie... or something else.... Just wondering

Didn't they just open or are going to open a Monsters Inc. ride in DL? If I'm right then I doubt another one will open in WDW right away. I think MGM needs a Muppet ride, its been talked about the Muppets Great Movie Ride, I would love that. If they do a another rollercoaster I think it should be a huge outdoor one that goes upside down and a high drop, MGM would be a good location.
