Just back & rode the new POTC!

Yes it still has the drop. And I think it was a little different boarding the boats, I'll have to ask my DH for sure.

Yay! That was a favorite when I was a kid! Can't wait til Nov.!!!

Rode it 3 times Sat. as well and yes it is Great.

Much more detailed then before on sight ,sound and feel .

YO HO is alive and well right up to the end of the ride ( won't spoil but it's great )

The Jacks look just like him and are placed very good .The new boat boarding from what I remember is set up to move faster.Look to your right as you leave the dock it's a missed part people don't notice.

The ladies were ladies again the ,The hairy dirty pirate was swinging dirtier then ever,The cats could be heard. I could go on and on about how much this ride improved and I loved it the way it was .

It still makes Splash Mt the first Fastpass and then back to PotC for the first ride at MK for us.

You lucky duck! We were there last week and although we had a wonderful trip, a small part of the fun was missing because POTC wasn't open yet. Glad you had a good experience; we can't wait to ride it in the future. Yo Ho!

This is so funny. When we were there last summer, we were asked to take a survey about POTC when we exited. They asked pages of questions about likes and dislikes of the ride and one of the questions was "what do you not want to see changed?". My answer immediately was "don't take out the guy with the hairy dirty leg!". The CM laughed, noted my comment and said that was one of the most popular requests! Glad to see they listened One more month for me to see the new edition

I'm so glad to hear that the guy on the bridge is still there as DS#1 would be disappointed if he couldn't say "See the HAIRY leg"

I'm glad to hear that (from most reports) they have updated/improved the ride without losing sight of the original

Hi all you recent Pirate riders - I have a question for you: will it be scary for my DD6? She's not the bravest little buckeneer but is ready to try Splash Mountain this year - we used the furry animals to convince her she could do it. My last memory of the ride is from 1976 - yep, a bit fuzzy except for the Yo- Ho song. Can you compare the ride to others that are on the same scariness level? It's A Small World vs Norway's Troll ride - Splash Mountain-like or Snow Whiteish? I just need to prepare her for drops, darkness and the like. Thanks. Sorry if I offend anyone with my lack of Pirate know how. I do love Johnny Depp! Arg!

Drop is small but dark ( Norway good for compairision) .The new updated battle sceen is a bit more intence (feel hear it better).

Other then that she should be fine everything else is just YO HO YO HO pirates having fun.

Soft openings started on the 1st. Availability has been a little spotty since then, although many have gotten a chance to ride.
