Our group of 8 just got back. We are not big breakfast eaters, so you will not find many breakfast reviews here. I am just going to review our restaurant type meals, leaving out all of our between meal snacking, which mainly consisted of lots of pretzels, churros, and such.
Day 1: Shoney's on 192-What a madhouse. We were starving after our long flight and stopped in for breakfast. Bad service, food ok I guess...D
Margaritaville: Awesome...great service, lots of food. And of course the margarita's were very tasty. Definitely will go back...B+
Day 2: Whispering Canyon(lunch)-had no PS, but were seated within 15 minutes anyway. Server was pretty low-key compared to some of the others. Bottomless milkshakes were a big hit. Great food...I had the pulled pork sandwich. The BBQ sauce one of the best I have had. DW had the meatloaf and could not finish it. But we had to get dessert and it was the best of the trip...the Banana Dustbowl. Definite thumbs up here...A
Day 3: Monster Cafe(Universal)-Disappointing. Huge wait, slow service, mediocre food. Had the roasted chicken which was kind of bland...D
Day 4: 50's Primetime(dinner)-Added on a PS in the afternoon at MGM. First time back in a couple of years, but we loved it as much as we did the first visit. Great service. Our "aunt" played her role perfectly, especially dealing with all us troublemakers. Between us all, we ordered Pot Roast, Fried Chicken, Grilled Chicken, etc. Everyone was more than pleased with their dinners. We also had some S'Mores, Oreo cheesecake to share between us all and DS had the Build-A-Sundae...A
Day 5: Pepper Market(dinner)-We all went our seperate ways and got what we wanted. I had the Buffalo Wings, which came with 13 big ol'wings and steak fries, DW had some Stir Fry, and DS had an individual pizza. Everything was tasty, but nothing extraordinary...B
Day 6: Le Cellier(lunch)-This is one restaurant we missed out on our last trip, so we made sure to get here this time. We absolutely loved it here. That pretzel bread was awesome. I think we probably went through about 4 refills and snuck some out to snack on later. We all basically had one sandwich or another. I had the French Dip, DW had the Steak burger, and the rest had some other different sandwiches which I cannot remember. Great service here as well...A
Day 7: Boma(dinner)-Our favorite from last trip. Not quite as good as the last time, but still great. I really missed the Pepper Pot soup. Prime Rib and Roasted Chicken were great. Really loved the Bok Choy and the potato salad. We really went to town again with the desserts of course. Lots of zebra domes, fruit tarts, and pineapple cheesecake...B
Day 8: O'hana(dinner)-Best meal of the trip as voted on by all of us. 2 additional friends joined in, making our party 10 strong. We arrived early for our 7:30 PS and watched the game at the bar and ordered some drinks. Blue Hawaiian for DW and I and they were great. Got a table close to the windows as we had hoped for the 8pm fireworks. We had 2-3 people taking care of us and they did awesome. Appetizers were great, we really loved the salad and had several refills on that, as well as the rice and shrimp wontons. And then came the meats. They brought us several skewers for our table alone. Really loved the steak, turkey, and shrimp. Pork was a bit dry. No desserts aside from the pineapple and caramel...A+
Day 9: Tusker House(lunch)-We bought the vouchers here which were a great deal. 1 adult and 2 kids vouchers for about $25. I ordered the Chicken Salad with the vinaigrette and it was great. DW and DS got the kids meal, one with the Mac and Cheese and one with the PB&J. Our total for these came to $21, and then we still had vouchers for each of us to get an ice cream/popcorn and a bottled drink. Turned out to work well as we all used them later in the day...B+
ESPN Club(dinner)-late dinner so we headed here. Small wait as there was a interview being done on stage with Tino Martinez of the St Louis Cardinals. After being sat, things were fine. DS got the Sliders, DW had the pulled pork sandwich, and I had the Hot Roast Beef sandwich...B
Day 10: Pepper Market(breakfast)-Service was not great, but lots of food. I had the Scrambled Egg platter with potatoes, bacon, and a biscuit, DW got Mickey waffles and potatoes, and DS got the kids breakfast...B
We really did not have any bad meals. And the amazing thing is I didn't gain any weight either. Any questions, please fire away. Thanks.
