Just back from a short 6 day trip (12/6-11)! Loved the Christmas decorations and shows. Was myself, dh, dd and sister. We ate most breakfasts at the Sports food court since my daughter is dairy allergic and she could have Mickey waffles every morning and one lunch with specially made chicken strips which she deemed delicious. Staff was great and really made her feel okay about her special needs. We all had average food nothing special.
For dinner we ate at the following:
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Package: This is a family favorite. Food is good quality, plenty of choices for us. Service was great. For my daughter, the chef brought her through the line, she had good choices, and he specially prepared corn and dessert: fresh brownie with tofutti.
Chef Mickey's: we agree with the decrease in quality. Is my daughters favorite for the character interaction, but the food is so-so. Great service though. The chef brought my daughter through, but were few choices so he specially prepared chicken breast and broccoli and dessert of divvies cookies and tofutti. She enjoyed her meal.
Wolfgang Puck's Cafe: was okay, nothing memorable, though service was good. Chef was able to make my daughter a dairy free pizza which she loved, but didn't have a dessert for her.
Crystal Palace: was our first time there, was wonderful! Food was excellent, with interesting choices. When the chef brought us through the line, they had the most dairy free choices including bread! There was no potato that she could eat so he made her roasted potatoes which she loved. Special dessert of tofutti.
Coral Reef: the food was wonderful with great service. We had arranged a special picture menu which had been forgotten, but I alerted the waiter and he soon brought it and it was a wonderful surprise. The three of us got the steak which was excellent. The only disappointment here was that I had been told the chocolate wave was dairy free, but sadly it wasn't so tofutti again! We were seated in the top row by the kitchen but we all felt that it didn't take away from the atmosphere and allowed us to see all of the tanks better.
Our last meal was on our travel day and it was at the Boma Breakfast, this was hands down the favorite of all. We all loved the atmosphere, the service and the food! We all thought this was the best food we had eaten and will now become a must do for future trips! The chef made my daughter french toast which she loved!
All in all it was a wonderful vacation and the food made it all the better.
