I just got back from a quick trip with some friends to celebrate some milestone birthdays. Had a great time! Crowds were moderate, busier than I remember for Sept but manageable. Had a very hard time making adr but walked up to several restaurants and had no trouble getting seated. So don't give up on restaurants until you try in person. Went to MNSSHP on Friday and seemed busy, but all of rides were walk-on. Parade and fireworks manageable. Lots of fun. Stayed at AS sports and was pleasantly surprised. Clean and convenient. Ran in the Expedition Everest Challenge 5K race on Saturday night. Had a great time, but it rained like I have never seen rain! We finished but didn't get to turn in our clue book and didn't get to enjoy the after party. I guess they restarted the rides late in the evening, but the whole PA system was out so no one knew what was going on. We had fun sloshing through the park, but had enough around 9:30 and went back to hotel. Also very much enjoyed the F&W festival on Thur at soft opening and Sunday. Lots of interesting food, wine and beer. Whew! I'm tired just typing all we did in four short days! Any questions I'll be glad to answer

We just got back last night also from a quick four day trip. I was in that rain on Saturday night but I was at Epcot walking around World Showcase and trying to figure out everything for my first visit to the Food & Wine Festival!! We ended up running in a gift shop in Canada and stayed there until they closed and then we ran to another store as we headed towards the exit. We stayed in there until they kicked us out but by that time it had almost stopped raining.

We had spent most of Saturday at AK and we saw all the tents, etc. in the parking lot and we were trying to figure out what it was all about. On Sunday we saw some people wearing t-shirts with EE Challenge or something like that on them so we figured it must have been some type of run/race.

I had never been to WDW in September and it was more crowded than I expected - except for the Food & Wine Festival which I had read gets pretty crowded on the weekends. We did go back there on Sunday morning and it was really nice walking around with no lines at the food kiosks and we got to eat some of the things I had seen the night before but didn't want to stand in the long lines to get!!
