Just back ~ NO crowds!

Whoo hoo, I'm excited! I've only been during the summer months, so it will be quite an experience :) Getting right on rides--what a crazy concept :)
Thanks for the info!

Ya know...when you put the pedal to the metal and let it roar you can do it in 45 minutes... Its just 115 mph down I-75 and the Turnpike and the Turnpike extension!

Just kidding...doesn't the new extension slice mebbe 10 miles off? So if you did say 85 mph all the way you could do it in between 45 minutes and an hour. Not that anyone should go 85 mph down 192...its just a theory.

Yea, I don't think that theory is feasable. 85 on 192? You would have to be flying low. :teeth: There are too many lights on 192. It takes us an hour and a half using 75, the turnpike, then 4. The other alternative is 75 to the turnpike to 27 to 192.
Heck, I'd be thrilled to death to get there in 45 minutes. I'd be there every weekend!

Glad to hear about the crowds - we're leaving on Thursday. Do you think the Cheerleading compitition will affect the crowds too much? I wish I had checked the calendar more closely before I booked. I would not have gone during cheerleading weekend.

I have a friend who should be landing in Orlando in about 10 minutes. I am so jealous, and we just got back a week ago!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes I've been working on our trip scrapbook and reliving the trip. We caught so many rides just at the right time and walked right on--so great! :sunny: Those of you about to leave, have a great trip!

We were there at the same time last week! We waited in no lines for rides, either. It was great!
We were at World of Disney in DTD on that rainy Friday, too. I knew it would be mobbed, since with it raining, everyone would go shopping, but it was our last day, and dd was determined to shop there.

We just got back last night from 5 days in the World ~~ there were virtually NO crowds anywhere (well, except for yesterday when it was pouring-World of Disney at the Marketplace was jammed!) It was great :cool1:

We walked onto rides at every one of the parks ~ Soarin' (twice right in a row), Mission Space, ToT, RnR, all 3 mountains at MK, Safari, Dinosaur (these were all in one day!)..... didn't really matter what time of the day it was; there still were basically no lines. The only wait was the time it took to walk from the entrance to the loading area.

Did more walking this time than normal since we didn't have to spend any time waiting in lines.

HELP!!!Ok, I have a question...When EXACTLY did you go? I don't get it I've gone during value season 3 TIMES IN A ROW when I was told there won't be anyone there, yet suffered an unusual and unbelievable crowd every time! I don't know why but no matter when I go I can't seem to beat the crowds!

Just got back today. The only park crowded was AK but that's to be expected w/ EE. They said it will be open more than it will be closed before the official opening.

Most everything was 5-15min wait and many times that was just the walk to the loading area or preshow included.

We waited 45min for EE...well worth the wait.

Buzz is open now too

HI :)
We arrived on Mon 1/30 and left on Friday 2/3 ~~ Guess we hit it just exactly right for this trip.

My daughter was a CP at Epcot last year at this time (she was there Jan-July) and even she said she never had seen the parks as empty as they were last week! It was just odd to have so many rides as walk-ons. Space Mt was SO empty ... when we reached the top the rockets were just sitting there empty, waiting for riders!!
A trip like this makes it hard for me to go at any other time of the year.

Disney Girlie-
We went at the same time. 1/30-2/03. I am a little phobic about crowds, so I make sure it is not near any holiday, check cheerleading and dance competition schedules, and even randomly check public school schedules all over the country, to make sure no one has a break. I also check touring plans.com. They list projected crowd levels by the day. Then I plan our park days pretty compulsively, again using touringplans.com (or unofficial guide book), to determine best day for which park. I certainly did see some crowds, but our touring plan kept us ahead of them. I saw lines, but didn't wait on them, and still did everything we wanted to do. I always go at low season, but Fantasyland is always mobbed in the afternoon-always. So, we always go right to fantasy land early on MK days, and have it to ourselves for the first hour. Also, it can just be luck. We went same time in "04, and crowds were slightly more.

Thanks for replying CP'ers Mom and SCJ068...I'll have to try that week next time. We were there the week before, so I can't believe the difference! Space Mt was about 25 minute wait, which in my opinion, is kinda long for that time of year.
A couple rides we didn't have to wait for. But most of them we did. Peter Pan was a 45 minute wait!
I've heard that when you go that time of year it is hard to go any other time of year! I really really hope that next time I go it's not crowded like that.
I'll definitely have to check out that touringplans website.
