June 22-27 had Emerald Aisle reservation. Arrived around 11:30am and walked on to EA and picked out a silver PT Cruiser. There were at least 4 Grand Caravans on the aisle that day. Plus the regular intermediate sizes.

Are you serious? Grand Caravans on the EA aisle  I've never had such luck......

A Montana?? That's great.

Boy, I hope we get lucky with a minivan. We're going July 7-12, but arriving at 11 pm , so I'm not sure what is going to be left at that time. We have twin 4 year olds, and I have these portable car seats (no bottom, only a back) and I'd really rather get something with an integrated car seat. Maybe we'll get lucky...

at around 1 PM and it was full of Malibus, G6, Malibu Maxx and a few Grand Ams. There were no PT Cruisers or minivans on the aisle that day (believe me, I would have jumped on one for the price I was paying). We took a G6 and my husband loved it. Told him to enjoy it while he could, since we need a full 5 passenger car at home and I just don't think this one would do it. It was fine for 4 of us on vacation though.

How does EA work? Do you book a specific car?

You have to belong to Emerald Club. You book an intermediate and have the choice of whatever they have parked on the Emerald Aisle row. Sometimes they just have intermediates, sometimes they have upgrades. It's basically luck.

There is a thread with reports. It would be great if anyone just returning would add their report:

Another question regarding EA. Do you pay for the car in advance? Could I have two reservations, one for EA, if they don't have a car I want then I can use another reservation for the car I do want? Does that make sense?

You pay when you return the car. However, when you join Emerald Club you have to give them a credit card #. If you don't cancel the Emerald Club car 24 hours in advance you could be charged a $50 fee. Usually they only charge for larger vehicles.

The new G6 is an incredable car. Its the best riding midsize car ive ever been in (The Cadillac Deville is the best riding car).

The G6 we had earlier this month had the remote start and leather interior. I really, really liked it. If I had not just bought a new car, I would have seriously considered that G6.

So if you reserve on EA (intermediate) and ER (minivan), and you don't cancel 24hrs before pickup, they will charge you $50, for which ever reservation you don't keep?

Yep. That's the way the policy reads.
