Just back May 13th, My dining reviews...

First time at WDW. We were on the dining plan and had made res in advance for all places which worked out great. Two adults and two boys 9 & 8.

12/23 Tony's Town Square MK: Edible Italian...really can't recommend. Very crowded, good thing we had res. FYI no booze in the MK.

12/24 Hollywood Brown Derby MGM: steak and chopped salad were excellent. Kids menu was the best in WDW. Christmas Eve dinner was nearly perfect, except for the rain. Fancy restaurant, but they didn't enforce the dress code. Signature dining...counts for two meals on dining plan.

12/25 Garden Grill Epcot: family style character dining. We had a booth on the first row. Very private due the the "round" set-up of the restaurant. Lots of personal time with Mickey, Chip & Dale, etc. Got tons of great pictures. Food was very good. Fresh veggies and the fish, steak and chicken was good. Boys got to decorate their own cupcakes for desert.

12/26 Restaurantosaurus-Animal Kingdom: buffet, character breakfast. Food was very good...lines were ok. Wait staff were all NYC wise guys, very funny. Lots of cutting up with my boys. This was the only place we saw Donald Duck the entire time we were at WDW. This is a McDonald's when its not breakfast time, but you would never know.

12/26 Pizzafari-Animal Kingdom: counter service. Medium lines. Food was pretty tasty. Nice sandwiches & salads.

Overall very pleased with food and plan. Highly recommend getting the res. We called about 1 month before our trip and were able to get almost all of our picks. The kids meal is very "kiddy", better suited for under 7 yrs old. My 9 year old didn't like it very much, but portions were ok. I spoke to several folks that didn't use the dining plan and they regretted it.

Pineapple macadamia nut pancakes sound heavenly. :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 Great photos of the POR. We will be there this September! :woohoo:

Thanks for your reviews.
Sorry you didn't enjoy Prime Time. We went back in December for our first time and loved it. Plan on going back again. We liked it so much we ate there a second time during our trip and I ate the Fried Chicken both times. Yummy! As for collard greens they are a staple in the south. I don't really like them but I don't really like veggies. My dh ate those for me so I wouldn't get fussed at. lol
Garden Grill is great too.
We will be going back to both of these on our trip this December. Hopefully PT will still be as great as it was when we went.
Sounds like I need to try the school bread. I have never tried it.
Thanks again for your reviews.

Hi Terry!!! I haven't seen you around lately. I thought you might have sailed away, never to return! :boat: Great to hear you had a nice trip. We have stayed at POR and POFQ numerous times and have LOVED them both!! We were at POR on 9/11! Now that was an interesting trip.
I have to agree with you about 50's. The food and service was awful. It seemed as soon as we were done with our appies they brought our dinner and when we were not even done with dinner they brought dessert. So it sat on the table melting! Our main problem might have been that we were right beside the kitchen!! :headache: I asked to be moved and was told that we would have to wait 45 min for another table!:scared1: We had arrived early for our ADR and everything. DH and I have said we probably will not be going back any time soon.
I am so pleased to hear another good review for the Plaza! This is one of my favorite little gems at MK and am happy to see others enjoy it as well.

Next time you make it to POR you should try Boatwrights. They had a killer prime rib when we were there last. And breakfast is almost as good as Kona (IMO) They have a banana-stuffed french toast that rivals Tonga Toast! And there sweet potato cakes...:cloud9: with a honey-pecan butter...:faint:
Ok, I have to stop now. I am starting to get hungry and I have 4 hours until lunch!

Thanks for sharing - Great review!

50's Prime Time: I believe that this was the last time I'll ever dine here. This USED to be my family's second favorite Disney World restaurant (Kona Cafe is #1), but basing my opinion on our last few times there, I will NOT be going back again. Last week I had the fried chicken, and it was dry and tasteless, the mashed potatoes had no flavor (I even had a friend taste for me, because I thought maybe my tastebuds were off that day, but even she said they tasted like powdered potatoes), and the vegetable was "collard greens". COLLARD GREENS? COLLARD GREENS are "All American comfort food" I think not. I didn't realize they still had green beans, I should've asked for them instead. Our server was TERRIBLE. I can tell when the servers are playing their roles, but this guy was just a big idiot. GRRR!
As an FYI, when we were there 6 months ago I had the pot roast which I used to LOVE, and it had changed and was terrible, too.

We ate at The Prime Time just last week and it was awful. I would not recommend it to anyone at all. And yes, the fried chicken was tasteless and the collard greens very unappetizing. I had the ham sandwich and the bread was hard as a rock. We were on the dining plan so we did have milkshakes for our drink which were pretty good actually and the desserts were fair but the appetizers and the entrees were the pits.

SeaSpray, I have a question for you. DH and I are thinking about going to WDW in May 08. We usually go in Sept. or Oct. How were there crowds, especially in the restaurants? We want to do DDP and have only done it when it was free (and crowded in the restaurants). Thanks for any thoughts and if you can compare May to Oct. that would be great.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
