Just Back -- Info on Photoconnect

Just got back. The photoconnect for us was $40ish for 1 year with 4 cards. We took about 100 shots in 7 days but you will soon get sick of the same ride photos and park entrance photos.

3 points I want to mention:

1. The website sux and it will take me a few hours to download all the pictures because there is no bulk download option
2. There is a photoconnect kiosk by the Jurassic Park jeep and I would hope there will soon be other photoconnect photo ops around the 2 parks.
3. The ride photo CSR's must like finally getting business but they will grow tired of loading these freebies on cards after a while

It is a nice background. You can choose to have webs from your (and his) hands, etc. Definitely worth doing.

I had a little surprise on the "Amazing Photos" website after purchasing the photo pass...evidently this company also does the photos at Rockefeller Center and we had pictures taken there at Christmas time and they were there on the website with all my Universal (I used the same email to sign up for both evidentally)!

I just got back & am so confused! I see my pictures on the web site, but they are really small. When I enlarge them, all the special effects disappear. Why?? If I order them, will they be there?

Just wanted to add they have an annual pass photo option.

We paid $80 for a full 12 months. All photos minus WWOHP and RRR are downloadable from photo connect. You also get free 5x7's. Either 8 or 10, I can't remember. Plus 50% on additional prints including the ones where they put your face in.

They also said you can stop by the photo store and request a photographer to come take pictures of you. We've never tried it though.

We went to Universal a few weeks ago and took a photo with Spongebob. It was so darn cute we wanted one printed out. So we went to the counter and they wanted to charge us for it. I told her what I was told when I bought the Photo Connect annual pass deal (what I posted above). She asked when I bought it, I told her July 1. She said the terms of the deal had changed since then. Now it was only $40 and didn't include the free prints. So I asked, do I get my free prints or my $40 back? She said she'd print us a free print but mentioned not to tell anyone so she didn't get in trouble. It's not worth someone getting in trouble over a free print so we said thanks, but we'll just talk to someone at Guest Services.

Guest Services was not able to help us, but they took us to the photo store. We explained what we were told when we bought the package. She said there were a few packages offered previously, one being a deluxe package, which is apparently what we were sold. She said it is no longer offered because there was so much confusion about what came with each package. Apparently the only information in the system was when we bought it and how much we paid. When you buy the package it doesn't say what type of package you bought. She was great and put a note on our account saying we get the 10 free prints. I asked about the 50% off and she said "Oh, that was another package." So the guy that sold it to us really got his packages confused.

So apparently my post was wrong!

So is it correct that they will ONLY put your Harry Potter or RRR rides pics on your account if you buy a print from that ride?

Can you have it put on there without purchasing with the option to buy the download?

So what seems to be the best deal? We'll be there in 18 days....will be spending 1.5 days at both parks, and will be spending that first night at RPR.
