Just back from a gut-busting trip to WDW! I will try to write a mini-dining report later, but if you have any questions about the following restaurants, let me know!

Breakfast:
Donald's Restaurantosaurus in the AK
Kona Cafe (Polynesian)

Lunch:
Coral Reef
50's Primetime Cafe
Yakitori House (fast food in Japan)

Dinner:
Boma
Hoop-dee-Doo
Bongo's
Wolfgang Puck Express
Cap'n Jack's

Thanks...how did you like Donalds??Also wondering how you liked Kona Cafe??amy

That was quick!
We actually were walk-ins for Donald's! I messed up and thought the AK opened at 8, and when we found out we were there an hour early, we asked about Donald's, and they let us be walk-ins! The food was OK, the usual hot dishes, fruit, cereal, pastries, etc. Good coffee. Our waiter was Mikeosaurus, and he was very funny. The character interaction was great - they came around 3 times or so. Maybe because we were there so early??
At the table next to us, it was a little boy's birthday, and he had a big fuss made over him with singing, and he was brought a special birthday card signed by all the characters.
We went to Kona Cafe because my sister wanted to try the Tonga Toast. The Cafe is very pleasant. The Tonga Toast was yummy (huge portion, and very rich!! - 2 could share if you're not big eaters). I was still full from dinner the night before, so I just had grapefruit and oatmeal (yummy, though).

How was Coral Reef for lunch? Did you have a PS?

Would you return to Bongos or eat somewhere else at DD?

Sounds like you did a lot in a short time!

MamaQuack - we did do a lot in a short time!! Usually I eat mainly counter service, but we really packed it in this time  . This was just my sister and I - her 1st trip to WDW - and we tried lots of places where I wouldn't take the whole family.
Only reservations we had before leaving were for Boma and Hoop-dee-Doo. We made a PS for Coral Reef for 12:30 the day before we ate there. We went because my sister's friend told her she had to try the Chocolate Wave dessert. We were still full from dinner the night before  , so we just had a bowl of the smoky seafood chowder (quite good), and my sister ordered the dessert - I had a bite and it was to die for! Menu was basically appetizers, entrees, and desserts - nothing really light or different at lunch, I guess. Atmosphere was nice, but I wouldn't go back - just my 2 cents.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere at Bongo's. Lots of gorgeous waiters ;) . I had mahi-mahi (catch of the day) and my sister had El Hatuey (steak). Both good, though my fish was a little dry. I loved the black beans and rice, and could have done without the plaintain side dishes - just not my taste.
We loved Wolfgang Puck Express, and I would like to try the Cafe next trip. I had a cheese and tomato pizza, and my sis. had a Falafel pita sandwich and Key Lime pie - everything was very good and reasonably priced!
Cap'n Jack's was a pleasant surprise - we walked in at 6 on Wed. nite and were seated immediately. Very pretty restaurant with a view out on the lagoon. Sis. had salad and crab cakes and I had crab-stuffed grouper - all was hot, fresh and excellent.

How was Kona cafe for breakfast?? I have never been there and have heard good things so we are thinking of dining there for our next trip ( for breakfast)
Also, what kind of plantains did you have at Bongo's. I love the maduros but I don't like the crispy ones. We loved Bongo's. It was one of our favorite places.

dansyr - Kona Cafe was great (see my reply earlier).
We had both the very sweet plaintains and the crispy ones, and I didn't care for either, though my sister liked both - so I guess it's just a matter of taste.
Belle5 - sorry, I forgot to answer you earlier! My whole family loves Yakitori House, and it's a must-do each trip. I had beef udon soup and my sister had tempura (shrimp) udon. Very tasty - my favorite fast food lunch at WDW! My kids like the skewers with chicken and rice and teriyaki sauce. We like to eat outside in the Japanese garden if the weather is nice  .
