We just got back at 10:00 last night from 4 days in the world (Sept. 12-15). Last year we also went this same weekend. While the parks are still far less crowded than when we go in the summer, they were definitely more crowded than they were last September. Last year we literally walked on every ride. I have pictures where there were no other people in sight. This year every ride had at least a 10 minute wait time. The rides like Snow White and Winnie the Pooh had longer lines than SM and SpM (I saw lots of families with young children). Sunday morning at 8:30 SpM had a wait time of 20 minutes. Yesterday at 11:00 Winnie the Pooh had a wait time of 45 minutes. The only exception was on Friday when we went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.

The weather was beautiful and we had no rain at all (Yeah).

A CM in Magic Kingdom yesterday confirmed that attendance is certainly up from last September.

Good for disney!!!
I am scared to see what it will be like in October!!!

I agree - Yeah for Disney! That said, I am very worried about the crowds for our trip in early Nov - Super Soaps weekend, the end of "Jersey Week", Veterans Day, and the Festival of the Masters. I am working on trying to re-align my expectation! This is the usual cause of my disappointment - so If I can just expect throngs, I'll be pleasantly surprised. So far it isn't working, but I am trying.

Right before our August trip all the Just Returned posts read "Hot, Crowded -- Never Going Again this Time of Year". I was in a little bit of a panic, okay a lot. Our trip was Super. Don't let the crowded posts scare you. Just get to the parks early. The only park we found really mobbed was MK, we used FastPass and had a wonderful time. I have pics of us in Epcot wihtout another soul around. Going again in October, can't wait!

We were at WDW on the EXACT same holiday weekend last year (soap stars and all)... we really aren't into the soaps - so we were also fretful before heading out. Overall, it was busy'ish' (not too bad, I'd say medium attendance), HOWEVER, there was only one totally-crazy-crowded time during our trip and that was the Saturday night MK SP and fireworks - which I usually expect anyway. I think you'll have a great time and the crowds should be just fine! Enjoy your trip!

What days did you do which parks? Did you use the EMH?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly we did MK on Friday (MK is ALWAYS first for us!), EP on Saturday during the day (with MK in the evening for the parade), MGM on Sunday (which was a soap day, but if you stick to just rides, it's ok!), MGM on Monday (again - we had a few cocktails at lunch on Sunday and decided a nap was more appealing on Sunday afternoon - so we had to go back to finish and catch the afternoon parade), EP on Tuesday, and MK on Wednesday. We skipped the AK on that trip, so I don't know what the crowds there were like. Our dates were November 7th- 14th last year - not even Veteran's Day seemed too busy at MGM. As far as EMH goes (I hope I'm right - so no one flame me if I'm wrong - please), but I think that was the period of time that the EMH/surprise morning was suspended and they were doing character caravans (or something) instead. Hope this helps you out, dandee
