just back from YC last night

I'd love to hear the details.

Room view, floor, did you stay concierge?

Where did you eat?

Did check-in go well, housekeeping, EVERYTHING.

:D

vbfamily:

our first trip NOT staying on concierge so I was a little worried but since we had the Silver Plan I did not think we would utilize the concierge food that much. we were on the 2nd floor - #2135. we had a beautiful lake, Boardwalk view and the wedding gazebo was right outside our balcony. there was a wedding on Friday afternoon - horsedrawn carriage, violin music - very, very sweet. we could not see Illuminations but heard the booms. our balcony had an awning that was great at blocking sun and rain(which we had a lot of). check in was unbelievably easy because no one was there. President's Week the hotel was 100% and our week it was about 25%. For the 1st time ever we had one of those great housekeepers who creates things out of towels, etc. Her name was Mona. I tipped $5 daily and $20 on our last just because her creations were an attraction we loved coming back to. She called yesterday morning to say good-bye - it was her day off and she was calling from home!!!!!!

we ate at Flying Fish, Fulton's, Coral Reef, Palio, Rainforest Cafe, Italy, San Angel and Yachtsman.

parks were not crowded, service was still great everywhere, characters were literally EVERYWHERE, longest ride wait was 10 minutes, bus service was never more than a 5 minute wait - I could go on and on. Despite fog, rain, wind and thunderstorms it was a wonderful, magical trip.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

It sounds like you had a dream trip. I just love the towel animals.

How did you like being on the silver plan?

I am planning on taking my DH to Fulton's in October for Stone Crab-his favorite!! Did you enjoy your meal at Fulton's and was this included in your plan?

Thanks for the details. I love hearing good things when people return home from their trips.

Hi,

Thanx for the trip report on YC.. how did you enjoy the pool??

Was it warm enough to swim and did you notice them checking wristbands?

>>^..^<<

We did not swim. We are from GA and have our own pool so to swim at SAB it has to be HOT and SUNNY for me. There were people swimming though - mostly folks with tiny babies. No wristbands. The huge slide was still being worked on but the scaffolding came down on Friday so I guess its almost finished. By the way, we have never been issued a wristband - we've been asked to show room keys though.

We liked the Silver Plan a lot - this was the 3rd time we've done it. If you like the gourmet places and will eat an appetizer, salad and entree it is worth it. We had never dined at Fulton's before. Did not have a PS and it was Friday evening. It was a 15 minute wait at 7:30. Hostess(very, very sweet) said we could wait in the bar and even eat there if we wanted - we got a table by the window right on the bow - ds was thrilled. Scotty, our server, approached and said he's love to serve us so - voila!!!! They had fresh oysters from BC, Washington, Oregon and P.E.I. - I had a dozen sampler platter - DIVINE! DS had calamari - good but not as good as Italy. Then DS had King Lobster claws-$48 but we were on the plan - they were already perfectly cracked. He ate every single one and let me have 1 bite!! I had Ahi Tuna with bok choi - Ohmy oh my - it was even better than Ca Grill and I never thought I would say that! Desserts were so, so. Our server was sweet, cute, fast and very attentive despite the growing crowd. Only complaint and its not a big one: if you buy a bottle of wine with dinner you must consume it all there - no take away bags - since I could not do that I opted for 2 glasses of the house blend of chards/pinio gris - amazingly good and they were FREE because I had wanted to purchase a bottle! Oh, and the bread is so wonderfully flavorful and tastes home baked. This is definitely a new fav for us! We shared a taxi there with other hotel mom and kid - fare was only $8 and sure beat the bus routine.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Now I REALLY can't wait to go to Fulton's. DH was born in Florida and loves seafood. It sounds like he is going to be happy. When we checked in to Vero Beach last year, we immediately went to brunch and they had stone crab claws. We were the only ones there and it was almost done. Needless to say, DH was very happy.

Again, glad you had a good time and it sounds like the plan worked out well for you.

Interesting about the wristbands... or lack of them.

I am splitting my stay this summer between BC Concierge and AKL Concierge solely based on wanting to swim at SAB - I wish they allowed pool hopping - then I would stay the whole time at AKL... and just visit SAB once - but I understand the reasons against it.

I guess checking room keys is also an efficient way of keeping out the crashers! Do they had a checkpoint charlie? or do they ask people randomly.

I loved hearing about your dinner at Fultons... sounded wonderful!

Thanx for info,

MamaQuack,
Sounds like you had a great time! Doesn't surprise me when the YC is involved!:teeth:

>>^..^<<,
When we stay at the YC during the summer, they definitely use the wristbands and Resort ID. I guess when the resort is not filled they don't feel the need to do such an extensive check.:):):)

Hi there... do you get new bands everday? or do you have to walk around all week with them on?

Thanx

>>^..^<<

>>^..^<<,
You get new wristbands everyday, and they often change the color of them from day to day. :):):)
