hello hello everyone.

Just got back this morning from Disney World this morning - sad times :(

i got the Disney blues and i'm already on the net looking to book again for neext year haha!

First week the weather was record high temps - which is saying something for Orlando!

Queues for rides were very minimal - most wait we had was 20 mins for the usual big rides, Soarin' was possibly the biggest wait but still no more than 20-30 mins.

No mention of swine flu whatsoever! haha all that panic for nothing :rotfl2:

Lovebugs are everywhere!

Universal Studios was chocker full of 5th graders finishing school and waits on rides there was a bit mental - (30-40 mins for E.T!!)

2nd week the storms arrived :( and they werent fun Florida storms.
For last 4 days it rained mad Florida rain alllll day.

Power outage in MK - everything stopped (this was our last day :( )

Hotel was All Star Music and was excellent, esp Dis buses.

All in all tho a great Dis holiday, Wishes was just as amazing as ever ( we watched sitting under castle) Illuminations still blows my mind, and Fantasmic is just as incredibly brilliant.

So if anyones off there soon - i'm jealous but still got my Disney happy face on :cloud9:

Anyone else just got back?

Glad you had a great time, not good about the storms though. Cant believe MK had a power cut how long was the power off for?

it went out at about 7pm and after going to a couple rides to find they were closed we went home so not sure when it came back on....

we didnt know this had happened we found that a couple rides were closed, my sis - an ex castmember found out from a friend who works there he said something like that happened pn a couple rides, dont know exact details

glad you had a good time :goodvibes

Glad you had a good time but wished the second week's weather was better for you. You expect sudden sharp showers but not continuous clothes drenching downpours all day which just isn't fun.

So glad u didnt let the weather get u down!! Power cut at Mk astounds me who would have thought that could happen !!

haha thanks guys, cant let the weather ruin the trip but it did get annoying. I'm booking to go October 2010 to cheer myself up haha ive proper got the Disney blues

Great mini report.
We got back from Saratoga Springs last Wednesday and I'm still feeling really down and can't wait to go back next year. Hopefully will go in September next year!!
We had 2 weeks of great weather in Orlando and moved down to Palm Beach for the last 4 nights and had terrible rain there too!!
Didn't ruin the holiday though and I wish I was still there now!!!
Wow power outage in Magic Kingdom....that was an experience.
Never mind lets get planning for next year.

Glad to hear you had a good trip.

We got back on Friday so lived through the torrential rain too!! Go to Florida at least 3 times a year and we've never seen the rain as heavy or last as long as it did last week. Like you said though, can't let it spoil the holiday, we still did Seaworld and Universal but not Disney this time. Going back in October so not too long to wait.

Happly planning for your next trip.

Sarah :yay:

We got back on Friday and was affected by the storms. when we went on 14th may queues were about 15-30mins but by memorial weekend and half term week they increased to 70-90 mins on some rides and when you finanally got to go on the rain and lightening arrived and the ride was closed! I guess I did not pick the best two weeks to go.

:rotfl:yes we were there 14thmay till 28thmay, and yes the storms were something else, didnt think it could rain so much.Saying that we still had a fab time, well we were at the most magical place.Ive also got the disney blues:laughing:

We were there for the same weeks 10th May to 24th did the shuttle take off on our 1st day 100f it was amazing, the americans were well prepared with coolers and gazebos (watched it from space view park in Titusville) just before take off a guy played the national anthem on his saxaphone it was magical. The rest of the week was hot and sunny, the rain started on the Sunday afternoon we had been to TL for the am left about 2.30 then a big storm came,
On the Monday it was still bad we had arranged to go to Cocoa beach for 2 nights we travelled in appalling weather, still raining we ended up buying some warm tops in Ron jons as we had only taken beach type clothes, the next day was rough so we went to KSC it was so bad that you could not see the other shuttle on its launch pad from the viewing station. We decided to return to our villa as the weather was not improving.

Umbrellas which were bought to shade us at Titusville on the 1st day came in useful!!

We had won a compotition to ride Manta with Tom Daley (olympic diver) at sea world on the Wed we managed 1 ride, sea world organised some rainy day passes for us,
Thursday was cloudy but no rain until 8.45 just in time for illuminations so watched it from under the mono rail.
Friday am ok but went over from AK to DS for the Starwars it was a wash out no characters no parade just torrential rain and huge claps of thunder so we left, went back to MK fo Spectro and wishes it stayed dry.

Saturday we shopped then went to Sea world for 6pm got the passes they also gave us vip passes to skip all the lines including Manta (1st official opening day) and reserved seating fot the Shamu rocks show,
However the storms returned and they cancelled the sea lion show.
On the Sunday final day the rain started at 5pm just as we were going to the airport.
Never had so bad weather even when a tropical storm was over Orlando, the temps plunged down to 68f in the day and the rain was awful,
Still enjoyed it all, this will be remembered as a fantastic holiday mainly for the shuttle launch and the Manta ride.

did the shuttle take off on our 1st day

We were told about the Shuttle launch every day and it was on the news every night - 2pm day of shuttle launch arrives and im too busy shopping to notice it was happening. loadsa people at Downtown Disney looking up. :lmao:

Glad you had a great time despite the weather.

whats manta like? i'm not a big sea world fan (insert shocked face here) so not been on it and prob wont next time. loved kraken though

Manta was amazing scary but just brill.
If you are a coaster fan then its a must, Its a bit like Air in Alton towers, where they put you in a forward (looking at the floor posistion) then you go up seeing people below you that was very weird, then it sort of flips you on to your back so you are looking at the sky, its very smooth not too fast but fast enough to give a hugh thrill, it also goes very close to some water so that splashes up a bit.
Well worth the trip to Sea world.
