Actually, we got back Monday.
I did not think it was possible to love a resort this much!
Those who haven't tried it, absolutely MUST!!!
When we drove up, it literally took my breath away. The lobby was much more impressive than even AKL's (I can't believe I'm saying this). Of course, all the decorations and tree were up and Christmas music was playing!!!
We had no line at check-in. This was the day before Thanksgiving at around 9:30 am. In fact, crowds were MUCH less than I had anticipated. Never did I feel crowded at this resort. You wouldn't even have known it was a holiday!
Our room was not ready until 3pm, which gave us plenty of time to head over to the MK and to look for the memory box!
We had room 2016, over lookign the otter pond. We could see fireworks from our balcony at night. Very nice. The room was small, but I think the bunkbeds made it seem smaller, since my mom had two queens and hers looked a bit larger.
Mousekeeping was excellent- arranged stuffed animals, new towel animals everyday (including a turkey), and turndown... everythign was perfect!
Got a few things from Roaring forks- never seemed crowded and we passed by there several times a day.
Ate at Whispering Canyon for dinner and breakfast. Food wonderful, antics just right -not too much , not too loud.
Ate at Artist Point-yum! However, I think Jiko is better. If we go back to WL, probably will skip AP.
Cub's den- on Sat night, just enough kids-less than 10. DS did not want to leave. We had to come back and get him!
pool was never crowded while we were there and my son loved the slide! rode surrey bikes to FW- another great plus to this resort. We saw the sleigh ride- we didn't have time to do it ,but it looked wonderful!
Spolier from day 4 of my trip report (which I haven't posted yet)-
My inlaws arrived on sat and were upgraded from standard to concierge!!!!! we met my FIL on the path to the pool and of course, since Ds HAD to go see his grandma, we all.... you guessed it, went up to the 7th floor. Okay, I wasn't all that impressed. the food offerings looked very nice the few times I was up there, but not worth the extra $$$$ without a nice lounge area. Their view was so-so- the villas and the balcony was blech!!!
Dh and I agreed though, that concierge (with a good rate) would be worth it for us if we were going to stay for more than a few days. We are usually there for a weekend and it would be a waste, but five nights was a little too much for us. we were WIPED OUT!!!!! With a longer stay, I would like to have the conveneience of the lounge , food offerings, and someone to help with dining or other arrangements. It gets tiresome after a while going to "find" a snack or drink.
I really enjoyed the turndown service. How did I live without it before???? Since we take naps, showers, etc before going out for the evening, our room ends up looking more or less like we left it that morning.... it was so nice to come back to neatly turned down beds, a clean bath mat, and clean towels folded neatly.
do you think they will do this for me at PC?????
