We've just now returned from one of the best trips we've ever had! The crowds were much later than I expected, the hours were great, WISHES is amazing and we just had fun!
First let me say that we are Poly lovers through and through, and we'll be staying there as long as we can afford it, but we do have some observations, good and bad, for what they are worth.
Cleanliness and upkeep -- A+ The grounds, the pool, the hallways, common areas, restaurants and rooms were just perfect and beautiful but...
I'm still giving a C to Mousekeeping. There was nothing so terrible that I wanted to complain to management or anything, but it was just so uneven. First of all, every day when the room was made up it kind of looked like when you send a 7 year old to straighten his room. It was clean, but really disheveled looking. The bedspreads were on crooked, the pillows weren't straight, the towels weren't hung straight, and none of our stuff had been moved to do anything. People that expect towel animals would have had a heart attack. These mousekeepers weren't even taking time to make the room neat. Also, they weren't getting it done at all until late in the day -- sometimes after
3:00, which was a drag because we like an afternoon rest in the room -- it was hot and sometimes rainy!! And one more thing, we only got our turn down service every other night.
The concierge lounge gets and A! It's always very neat and stocked with goodies -- and I don't know how they manage with all those parents who let their kids take way too much and grind half of it into the carpet !!! People were asking for all kinds of things that weren't even out and the staff got it for them. It's so much fun to go there for an after dinner drink and watch the fireworks.
We waited over 1/2 hour for a bus and gave up and took a cab to animal kingdom one day - I don't blame the Poly for this though. There were people waiting for other buses, too, and just nothing was coming. The boat taxi to the MK is great and of course so is the monorail.
