Just got back last night from a marvelous week at the Dolphin. We had asked for a smoking room with two double beds and got upgraded to a balcony room with a view of the Epcot fireworks and the Boardwalk.

The hotel is fantastic--the whole family loved it. Trip reports will come later. Let me know if you have any questions!

Glad you had a great time! We will be there in 33 days.
Did you ask for an upgrade? Or did they just give it to you?

Did you take pics from your balcony? WOuld love to see any.

Cathy

Did you have those cool new beds?

Trekker--no we didn't have the cool new beds--we were on the 9th floor and the renovations aren't that far yet. BTW, I had a terrible time with the bed. I have back problems and didn't sleep well at all on the bed. They were at 100% occupancy and couldn't move me. They sent up some pads for the bed, but I ended up taking the bedspreads and sleeping like the princess and the pea! The front desk offered to move me if another room became available, but I liked my balcony and my view too much.

crz4mm2-Nope, I didn't ask for an upgrade, they just gave it to me. Imagine my surprise when I opened the curtains to look out the window and hey--there's a balcony out there! I'll post some pictures later--I'm waiting to get them all back.

I'm glad you had such a good time. We will be going to the Dolphin for our first visit in a few weeks. I was wondering, if you self parked a car, and if you did, how far away was the walk from the parking space to the hotel?

Also, did you eat at Fresh and if you did, how did you like it?

Do you know what floor they are on with the rennovations?

Thanks!

diskids2-we didn't use a car, we got a ride from the airport on Tiffany. I don't even recall seeing the parking lots, so I'm not sure how close they were. I did receive a phone message saying that one parking lot was closed and if you were parked there, you needed to move your car. Sorry I can't be more help on that one.

We had lunch at Fresh one day and it was good, but frankly I thought it was overpriced and none of us really cared that much for the food. They did have some really great French Onion Soup, lemon pepper roast chicken and the desserts were yummy. It was a little fancy for my daughter's tastes, she's more of a cafeteria kid.
