Just back from the 7 nt Western. Any ??s

We didn't end up using the kiosk even though we knew they were available. We weren't sure where they were, no one ever advertised the service, and only some of the pics were swiped on the keys, so we had to go to shutters anyway. I'm guessing that when they decide to advertise why they are swiping cards or give out some info, that it will be better.

Our dining rotation was lapplap.

we were on the same cruise-late seating dining roation plaapla. if you can get this rotation-DO IT. perfect-parrot cay on pirate night, animators on the formal night, and lumieres for the captains dinner. loved being able to eat in animators 3 times, though we had palo ressies the night of the show dinner in animators, and we did go to dinner so the kids could see the show, but eating twice wasnt an option after all that food at palos. we did brunch at palo also on key west day, and let me say that sasha is an amazing server. request him if you go, you will have a wonderful experience.

as for cozumel-we took a cab and went to nachi cocom. AMAZING. This was by far everyones favorite excursion of the cruise. it's a beautiful beach, all inclusive, and they only let 100 people in per day-so it's not crowded. not loud and tacky colors like most that we saw-relaxing, with a pool, hot tub, massage cabanas, banana boats, jet skis. as soon as we sat down they out chairs set up for us under grass style umbrellas, then immedeatly got us drinks and appitizers (the chips and salsa and guac were awesome). they kept bringing us more of whatever we wanted, we had a fabulous lunch, and then rented jet skis for a half hour. The kids had a blast, as did the adults, and I can't say enough for the staff there. So helpful, friendly, and made sure everyone was havinga great time. Another of the big all inclusive beaches was nearby, and it just looked too crowded and crazy. We really enjoyed the personal service that we got at nachi cocom, and we WILL be going back. Prices were great too-$49 per adult, $29 for teenagers, and kids 4-11 were $12...younger than that and theyre free. You will get your money's worth and you'll leave relaxed and wishing you could have stayed longer.

i'm done hijacking this thread. ill do a report later with pics, but i sitll have unpacking to do! :scared1:

Did you do a scheduled Disney excursion to Nachi cocom or do it on your own? If you did it on your own, how much was the taxi to get there and how long did it take? And finally when you say it was all-inclusive does that mean your food and drinks were included in the $49 per adult?

You can prebook Nachi online to ensure your spot but we found out that you can also go pay and entrance fee and do everything ala carte. If you book online and pay the $49 you're guaranteed a spot and it includes a full lunch including appetizer and entree, sodas and open bar. They are not cheap about the food or alcohol either. They give you huge servings of food and they never let you be without a drink. They had many choices for your meal ranging from hamburgers and sandwiches to full meals. I had the best tortilla soup I have ever had and a wonderful chicken meal. It was better than the food on the ship. I loved it there! You have the beach and the pool and no one is constantly trying to sell you things. I heard different prices from different people regarding taxi price we paid about $25 - 30 for 5 of us to get there and a bit less to get back to the ship.

From what I understand they actually no longer do the al a carte thing...book online and take a taxi from the port. it cost us $35 each way for a van of 9 of us. They'll call you a cab for your return trip home.

and yes-all inclusive is really ALL inclusive...drinks (just like was said-theyre not stingy-good brands of liquor, plus wine and beer til your hearts desire), appetizers were huge-and they kept them coming, and lunch and desert. lunch was great-fajitas, 5 different kinds of shrimp, fish, quesadillas, burgers hot dogs, all kinds of stuff.

you can't go wrong with this place. the website is www.cozumelnachicocom.net check them out!

still offered on the cruise? If so where & time. I think these may be the late night snack :confused3

If you do book online to go to nachi cocom.. would it matter when you arrive, then? In other words.. really didn't want to have to be on a time frame.

Are there other all inclusive beaches there? I haven't seen this option until now. It is good to know! Thanks!

Thanks for the report and answers to questions. We're sailing in just over three weeks and are looking forward to going.

Did they show a movie in the Walt Disney Theater during the week?

When you get off the ship in Cozumel, where are the cabs? And are they mini-van types or just cars? Can they take four passengers? What about five?

Thanks.

We docked at the langosta pier in cozumel. They route you up the stairs, around a 'mall' type area of shopping and downstairs again. The cabs are right there on the street. There is a taxi stand right there with prices and someone will direct you to a cab. Most taxis take 4, but there are some larger vans. The price will be a little higher. The cab fares in Coz. are strictly reglated, so you shouldn't have too many problems. There is a board with prices for major destinations. Very easy to manage and not stressful.

They were showing HSM3 a lot this week. They also showed premiered Bolt 12:01am on Friday. We didn't manage to see it as their showings were at weird times. There was at least one other movie, but I can't remember what it was!

Hi there,

I wanted to know about Grand Cayman - is it easy to get a taxi-van (for 6 people)? We are hoping to visit Turtle Farm on our own. Thanks!

HI, can you tell me if there are cartoons on the TV at all times. We have a 2 yr old and he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Is it availablle to watch?

Yes, the disney channel and toon disney are both available. Also, there are I think three animated disney movies playing at any given time as well as other disney movies. There will always be something for any little one to watch.

As for Grand Cayman, I can't help you. We were met by our excursion right off the boat and got right back on afterward. We never really saw any of Grand Cayman except the water.

I'll second the request for dining rotation. On 7 night cruises I've seen some are ABBCABC and others are ABCCABC; I'd like to know what they are currently doing on the Western.

Grand Cayman - yes many of the taxis are vans and can carry multiple people, like 7 or 8.

Our dining rotation was PLAAPLA, we were in the 5:30 seating.

Alex

We were the same rotation and seating as Alex.

No problem with taxi's in GC. They have set charges per person for trips to any destination.

Hi:

If you wouldn't mind - I had a couple questions. We are leaving tomorrow on the train to Fl. We leave on a 7 day Western on Saturday - will be our first.

Is every cruise the same as far as which night is Formal night, or semi-formal, pirates night, etc. If so - could you tell me the order of the days and what falls on which day?

I could only get ressies for Palos the first night (Saturday). We have early seating - so thought we would go - meet servers, kids could eat and then our reservations ta Palos are 8:30 and we would put the kids in the club. Do we miss anything that first night by doing this?

When you said - now I am not sure it was you  that it was COLD ... I am packed and everything is pretty much shorts, sundresses, skorts. I do have a sweater and sweatshirt for the girls ... should I throw in long pants??

Thanks for your help! We leave for the train in VA about 12 tomorrow ... so :yay:

:goodvibes :cutie:
We have booked outside of Disney - the Dolphin Swim at the Cha____ Park (can't remember the exact name at moment) ... but we need to get there at 11Am and our event starts at 11:30.

When we arrive at the port - does this give us enough time to get off ship and get a taxi and get there by 11? I know it is only a 15 min ride but was curious what the local time was when ship pulls in and how long it takes to get people off ...

Train from Virginia? Sounds like fun, we are in Arlington, maybe next time I'll look into it.

You won't miss anything the first night, it is just kind of chaos with everybody running around checking out the ship, your probably better off enjoying dinner.

I believe the them order stayst the same, Casual, Casual, Formal, Pirate, Casual, Semi, Casual.

Weather and dress? It was in the 70's, if that is cold to you, wear long pants, but it was windy on deck

You get to Cozamel in plenty of time to get there by 11 (unless there is some unexpected delay).

Thanks for the info! I think I am really really going to like the train :thumbsup2

We have driven to FL. before - - also have flown but then I looked into the Auto train.

Really the incentive for us was that we had a ton of Amex points - so I was able to book the train using those. It leaves out of Lorton, VA - which is a little past Manassas - we are heading from Fredericksburg. Get the vehicle on - and then we have our sleeping compartment with 4 berths -they convert from the sofas, etc.... they have the lounge car - cafe car - sit down dinner - the whole gamut! It is about a 45 minute drive to the Radisson at the Port and we arrive Friday am. We haven't done the train before or the cruise for that matter :) - so it will be interesting ... hopefully it will just be a fun adventure!

70's soundds perfectly good to me:cool1: especially with the weather we have had here lately :)

Thanks again for the info!!
