We got back from 4 nights at RPR. It is a very beautiful resort. Room was a standard hotel room, small but good for 5 days. Weather was cool for the first 2 days and then warmed up to the high 70's. We ate at Islands, Tchoup Chop, Jake's, Mythos, Jimmy Buffett's, Pat O'Brien's and others. All were good especially the margaritas. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Glad you enjoyed RP....it's a beautiful resort....we stayed there last summer. just stayed at HRH, altho we liked HR, prefer RPR....going again in June!:cool1:

Glad you liked it.
If you stay at the PBH the room is larger, and the bathroom is huge.

Hi - We're staying at RPR in April before Easter & have reservations at both Tchoup chop and Mythos for early dinners. 2 questions:

How did you like these 2 restaurants (w/ details please :) ) ?

When we are there, the parks close at 10. Our ressie for Tchoup chop is at 6 - is it realistic to think that we could go from park, to RPR for dinner, and back out to the park, or would this be too much walking back & forth? (Never been there and hard to get a feel from the maps . . .)

Thank you!

PBH will be our next choice. We stayed at HRH about 5 years ago.

TChoup Chop was very good. It is fine dining with a few waiters always buzzing around your table filling water glasses, taking plates, etc. I had seared tuna and my wife had a salmon dish. Both were great. Dinner will probably take about 90 minutes. The walkway from RPR comes out right next to Jimmy Buffett's and it takes about 10 minutes at the most. I ran it in under 3 minutes a couple of mornings. We did Mythos for lunch and it was also good. I had a steak sandwich that was tasty. We sat down just after 11:30 and made the Sinbad show at 12:30, so they do get you in and out quickly. Mythos looks like a cave inside - it is kinda cool.

Thanks for the review and I'll be staying there for 2 nights in July, but something tells me I won't have any worries about cold weather in July.:lmao:

I was a little worried at first about the room size as well, but as first time visitors to Universal we will have our 2 days pretty much filled up with going to the parks. I will definitely be trying all 3 pools out though and I really would love to stay at PBH because of the larger size of the rooms. Sadly no AAA rate was available for the PBH or the HRH when I'm arriving. Maybe next time, but I can't complain because of the good AAA rate I got at the RPH. I am looking forward to the South Pacific theming of the resort and that theme is a reason I always stay at the Polynesian resort. It looks like a real nice place to stay and I wish July was here already. My wife is just as excited as I am. I'm going with an open mind and not going to judge this resort or the 2 parks with Disney as a comparison. As far as I am concerned this is a separate vacation from my WDW one that I'm taking two days later.

Mythos and Tchoup Chop are my two favorite restaurants at Universal. The walk to the parks from the RPR is not bad at all.

Thank you......

also, each resort has rickshaws waiting to take you to CW OR your resort if you don't feel like grabbing the boat or walking...they are free, but work for tips ;)

I don't know about using the rickshaw thing though. Let me see how can I put this...... I kind of like my food a litle bit too much, I guess...... I think the rickshaw guy would drop his cart and run for his life after seeing the size of my wife and I. :lmao:

I don't think I could afford the tip he would require to haul me to my resort.:rolleyes1

Maybe some of that extra walking would do me some good.:scratchin
