Just back from Quest for the West-Amazing!

Ooops. I stand corrected. It is Yellowstone. Wherever did I get Yosemite from.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I haven't done an ABD trip yet, but we are looking at Quest for the West for next summer. The OP mentioned kids ages 6-12, but were there any 4 or 5 year olds? They allow children 4 and up, but recommend they be 5 or older. We would have a 4, 5 and 9 year old - should we wait until the youngest is a little older? Thanks for any insight into this.

There is a lot of walking and a lot of it is on step rocky inclines. I would say no.

I too would wait a year or so. The walking is a LOT! The European trips are on cobblestone so a stoller is NOT an option. Better to wait and have all enjoy themselves.

We are thinking of taking this tour. I have a couple of questions I hoped you could help with.

1) What are the age ranges of this tour (and ABD tours in general) We are thinkning of taking the trip with our extended family which range in age from 5 to 80.

2) is there swimming available anywhere on the trip other than the river rafting trip? My DD is a fish. . .

Thanks for the help and BTW, this is my first post here! It is always fun to join a new board:goodvibes

we went on this trip in Aug. It was a blast. To answer your questions

1) our age group was 8 to about 68. Age doesn't matter as much as if they can walk long distances on steep inclines. There are many ridged rocks during the hiking trips, especially on the Grand Tetons.

2) I didn't see many places to swim. As you stated, they allow you to jump into the water during the rafting trip.
