We just returned from a 4 day trip to DL. We stayed at Paradise Pier. Nice hotel, rooms were very clean. We had a wonderful view of California Adventure, we were able to watch the electrical parade from our window, very nice! Room service was prompt, great food! The location of PP is very convenient if you plan to spend a lot of time at CA, but is about a 10 minute walk to DL (feels longer if you're dragging tired children w/ you!)
...Now for the bad news, the pool is just awful! It's tiny and there are no umbrellas to provide shade. It appears they are building a yellow slide next to the pool, but I think it will take more than that to make the pool area appealing.
The Minnie and friends character breakfast was so-so, Goofy's kitchen was much better.
Regarding crowds in the parks, Wed&Thurs (6/2,6/3) were just great, longer lines for the really big attractions but crowds were really managable. Fri was packed, we left early and had a quiet lunch in downtown Disney.
Any questions?
PS..minor vent....they charge $20 for a disposable camera in the gift shop!!! The battery died in our digital, we had to buy one. The guy should have been wearing a ski mask when he took my money!

Welcome back and thanks for the post. We were at PPH last month and greatly enjoyed it. That said I was upset that the pool closed at 10pm. We showed up to use the hot tub at 955pm after a long day in the parks, only to be ushered out at 10 by a security guard. I do hope when they tear down the construction wall that the second pool and slide will add more to the area. The rooms were great though and I have never heard one good review of the PCH breakfast with Minnie. Everytime we walked by we only saw Max in there.

I'll make a positive comment about PCH breakfast. The food was really good when we went in Nov02. The character action is a little limited with only 3 characters working the room. But I had one of the best omelets I've ever had there. Their bacon was delicious - cooked crisp for those of us who like it that way.

I've never heard a bad review of the PCH Grill before. It's been two years since we went, so our information isn't current, but the food was good, and plentiful, and the characters were very good at interacting with the crowd. (My kids were ecstatic!)
