I wish I was back at the POR!! Waking up this morning to the winter storm
after 80 degrees and sun for a week was depressing!! There were seven of us total...me, my dh, and our three boys (ages 5, 4, and 20 months) in one room and my father and his wife in another room. We had surprised them with a trip...they had never stayed on Disney property before and had no clue of all that Disney has to offer.
Anyways, we had a great time and thought the POR was beautiful. We were in the Alligator Bayou rooms 2401 and connecting room 2402. The rooms were beautiful and quiet!! Plus we were real close to the West Depot bus stop. The bathtub faucet in our room did have a pretty bad drip and we did notify the front desk but it was never seen to during our trip. Wasn't a big deal to us as we could shut the bathroom door to not hear it. We were also close to a pool and laundry.
The walk back to the lobby and food court was a pain at times....mainly after a long day in the parks when I wanted to go refill the mugs!
Our bus stop was never crowded but the buses were sometimes packed after all the stops. For the most part people were very respectful and would get up to give a seat to a younger child although as always there are a few grouches.
I found the food court to be very busy. We stayed at the All Star Movies last year and do not recall it ever being that busy.
We had one incident while there....we had returned from Downtown Disney and went to see if some of our packages had made it there yet. The baby was getting restless of being in the stroller and wanted to run around so I decided to head back to the room with him and my middle son. That left my dh, my oldest son and my father and his wife. A little while later there is a knock at the door....I knew it was my son. So I figure that they were too lazy to pull out their keycards. My middle son opens the door and it is my oldest with my fathers wife. She explains that my dh was with my father as he had taken a pretty bad fall and had the medics there. She said that he was bleeding pretty bad which panicked me as he is on a blood thinner. I immediately called my dh and found out that they were on their way back now and that he had been cleared by the medics. My father had been carrying the backpack and had his thumbs around the shoulder straps. My oldest had been pretending to skate and stepped in front of his grampa....that and with the crack/uneven walk, my father went down with out a chance to get his hands down first....he hit his face pretty hard and cut his nose, chin and forehead. There were some very helpful people who helped out...two ran to get help and one lady ran to her room and came out with some towels to apply pressure to. She then stood out and directed the medics to where he was. I wasn't there so wasn't able to thank her or the others personally so if you were the ones who helped him, thank you!!!! The manager on came right out and got info. I guess he was very helpful and had offered to get him to a hospital if we wanted. He had gotten his contact info but we never heard from anyone again.
Other then that one incident, we had a good time.
