Just back from Poly CL

Thank you for your review! We are staying there in less than 2 weeks and I cannot wait.

Did you happen to notice if the CMs in the CL lounge were limiting you on the food? I hear that you can get just 2 breakfast items everyday....which is hard for DH since he has a nice big appetite and loves a bagel, danish and cinnamon bun!

They in no way limited what we took. We had bagels, mini muffins, cinnamon rolls and crossiants. Along with oatmeal and cereal. My DH got some for all 4 of us at multiple times. They didn't care nor were they keeping track what anyone was getting.

For dinner a gentleman was by himself and he clearly made enough trips to warrant it to be an actual dinner. He had several plates and they were loaded. Now, you may ask why was I keeping track?? Well, I was enjoying a wonderful relaxing evening in the lounge and probably had 1 too many beers or punch myself::lmao:

The staff was great. They didn't care how much you took or how many times you took it. They actually remembered people's names and would say "John, would you like your bottle of water?" Food was plentiful. No worries at all.

I would like to see CL return to polynesian offering of the very recent past offered again: pineapple bread, Kona Brewing Company beers. The lounge just keeps on loosing its polynesian feel.

I have a tough time believing that one. . .no one has ever tried to limit our consumption at any service. . .:confused: Now, I know the a.m. service has become more limited in offerings and perhaps there are only a couple of bagel types and one other, e.g., a cinnamon bun being offered. Perhaps that is what was meant by limiting items. :confused3 It would be rather presumptuous of a CL CM to tell you that you couldn't have more than two items. . .I'm sure one of our new returnees will be able to speak to this question with personal knowledge.

I was on Tikiman's site last month when I booked the room and it said for breakfast all the pastry/bread options and it clearly said "limit 2" and I did some searching around online and all the other new CL menus said the same thing

Thanks for that! I cannot wait to get there!

Thanks for the great review. It makes me even more excited about our Jan trip.

Wow Nicki, that's all I can say--I have never seen any type of signage like that in any lounge at Disney and it shocks me that any such sign would be placed in the CL. :confused3

We were just at Disney in late September/October (and I think you were there at the same time). We were at the Polynesian visiting and I didn't see any type of sign, then again I wasn't there at breakfast so who knows. There is one for the alcoholic beverages that limits a guest to 2 drinks at a time, but I can appreciate and understand that. Attempting to limit a guest's consumption though is just not right. I know my husband would want more than one cinnamon roll and bowl of fruit and my son for sure eats way more than two! :lmao: Before you know it they will try to limit us to one cup of that crud they call coffee. . .hmmm, that might be a good thing.

Jackal just returned, so it sounds like your husband will not have any worries. Hope you have a lovely stay and can't wait to read about your adventures! I have always enjoyed reading about your trip and dining reports! :woohoo:

I am not sure what the "limit 2" means. We were never limited. There were bagels out everyday. And then there were always muffins and then they rotated cinnamon rolls and croissants. Maybe they meant there are only 2 pastries out a day? All I know is we never were limited to 2. There was no way they could limit. They just never cared what people took and were more concerned about giving people what they wanted.

I wouldn't worry about the limit 2. That may be misinformation or something. I clearly remember by DD15 having at least 3 or 4 different items on her plate as well as many other people, including myself;). No one questioned or cared. There was so much food out there, I don't know why they would limit it.

I can also confirm there are no limits in the Poly CL lounge. I've been there twice, but not as recently as BreezysMom, obviously - but in June and another time in 2008 -- never saw any sign of any kind nor did anyone say anything about how many you took of anything - at breakfast or any other time.

You know - now that I read Tess' post - yes, on alcohol- there is a limit of 2 at a time, per person on drinks. But I still never saw any kind of a sign. And that's the policy all over WDW - even if you're paying for drinks - they won't let any one person take more than 2 drinks, to prevent underage drinking I believe.

Me three! Just returned and we utilizied the lounge every morning for breakfast.

They had TWO different pasteries every day in addition to bagels. I think that is what that means. One day it was cinnamon rolls, the next mini muffins and crossaints.

There was no one watching over you or judging your food consumption! No worries! :thumbsup2 Although I think I personally drank 3 gallons of the Ku'ulei Special drink while I was there.....no one seemed to care :lmao:

I also met the CM and yes, she is a wonderful lady! Although there were some that were sort of flat but most everyone was fabulous! :lovestruc

That would be the case and one time at the AKL we saw a guest come in and try to talk out with eight beers at once. Club CMs stopped him and then pulled the beers off the line that night. Guest had to request beers the remainder of the night. Then following night they were back on the line again.

Thanks to those who have confirmed my opinion about consumption. I would hate to think that the CL would be limiting a guest's choice for breakfast--or any other service for that matter. I will admit there have been times at dessert that I have wished there was a limit since we missed out, but then again it was our late arrival that caused our inability to enjoy.

Considering the food options in the lounge is one of the reasons the Club Level rooms at each of the Deluxe Resorts cost more, there is no way anyone is going to tell my family and I how much we are allowed to eat. Besides the foods and drinks are always replaced until they are to be taken away, so as long as it's re-stocked then there are no problems.
