We just got back from our first Christmas trip to Walt Disney World. It was great! The decorations were awesome and just being there was more than enough. I took tons of pictures. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. (We usually go in the hot summer months.) The weather was cooler, no doubt, but when compared to Winters up here in PA., I'll take Florida anytime!
We stayed at Coronado Springs. The hotel was lovely. Buses were not bad at all, very little wait most of the time.
Castmembers were stellar. The magic was definitely there.
We highly recommend a Christmas trip if at all possible.
We also checked out the venue for Velvetglove's wedding at the poly. It is so beautiful. We are so looking forward to the wedding in May.
The only odd occurances happened the morning we went to the MK before leaving. First, after going through the turnstiles, we were stopped by a security guard and a 'plain clothes security guard'. It appears I had made a 'mistake' which they referred to as an 'issue'.(They were very polite, no scene was made, etc.) I had bought my 19 yr. old a long sleeve t-shirt at Penneys with the word Security across the front and he wore it that day. They wanted him to cover it up. We had him put on his Dad's jacket and all was fine. I honestly never gave it a thought but I could see where it could be confusing. We had no problem 'covering' it up. Lesson learned. =0)
The second occurance was while waiting for the bus back to our hotel that same day, before we left. We were waiting for the bus to CS. While waiting we witnessed at least 7 buses that were not Disney buses pull up to the stop right next to ours and unload passengers. A Disney castmember waved them into the area, they unloaded then took off. The castmember was perturbed when one bus driver overshot and parked at our loading area for CS. What we don't understand is why these buses were allowed to unload here. I want to post to the transportation board with that question.
If anyone has any questions, please ask. Thanks again to Velvetgloves, her fiance and DH for such a great Christmas present!!!!!!
