Just back from my first solo trip!

Just got back from my first solo trip (an add on to a business trip)... One night at POP (2/2), an afternoon/evening at Epcot & a morning/early afternoon at MK.

Because I was solo I noticed how much groups take their sweet old time moving around!! And how oblivious they are to others, taking up entire walkways, not moving even when a polite excuse me is stated! I'll take note of that next time I'm down with the family!!!

All my friends thought I was either crazy or quite brave to go it alone... I shrugged it off! Some people just don't understand us Disers!!!

Glad to hear you had a good time on your solo trip. I can totally understand where you are coming from. I have gone alone a few times and being that I was alone, I saw things that I probably wouldn't have even paid attention to had I been with other people. Some people can truly be rude.

Thanks for the link to the report-it was great. Those ponchos are the best deal and only $7 now? We paid only 1 or 2 dollars less than that 11 years ago, but the ponchos are still good.

I'm traveling solo to WDW in May. Did you go to any sitdown, service restaurants for a meal? I'm trying to decide where to place my priority dining reservations.

I did not... with such limited time I just ate on the run!

I've gone solo a few times and I've done Chef Mickey's, Rose & Crown, Kona Cafe, Sci-Fi, Brown Derby, Crystal Palace, and your usual hamburger fast-foody place in WDW. I found that off times for the sit downs had less people so I would eat as soon as the place opened or inbetween key times. With the character breakfasts you have a seating time. Chef Mickey's was easier (more comfortable) than Crystal Palace because there were some conventioneers staying at the Contemporary - you should of seen those computer guys when Chip and Dale came out and everyone started waving those napkins!!! It was a hoot. (they didn't join in btw)

I would say eat where you want to eat and enjoy! Often when I was alone people nearby would chat with me or I with them (mostly when I saw the most delectable meal going to their table) or pour over your map planning the next park.

Outside is great, too. Grab something quick and eat outside. Tho watch the birds! I once had my fries stolen by a seagull!

When I went solo I ate at - Boma, Brown Derby, Crystal Palace, Tony's Town Square, Ohana, Akershus, Le Cellier, CRT, Jiko, Kona, Marrakesh, Mama Melrose's, 1900 Park Fare, Coral Reef, and Artist Point.
