We stayed 4 nights at the HIFS (the 5th to the 9th) for the 1st time and loved it!! For anyone worrying about the cleanliness, pool, etc. - DON'T!! We had no problems at all. Our room was spotless, everything worked great and housekeeping was prompt everyday. Check in was easy (they did ask for my Entertainment card) and they honored my pizza party coupon and said the person would receive credit for it. We were there around noon and they had a room ready for us. I had asked for jungle theme room since my kids love animals but they didn't have any of those available, but they did have Disney theme ready suprisingly so that is what I chose. It was a good location (can't remember our # though, seems like it started with an 8?), ground level, facing the pool and not a long walk to the lobby. The only problem was that being at ground level, and being a light sleeper, I was occassionally awoken by people walking by our room outside. There wasn't anyone at the Kid's check-in, but we did receive a coupon for a free bucket of popcorn and 2 bottles of Coke for being a Priority Club member. We were also told that local calls would be free (but they erroneouslycharged us $0.75) and that we could have a late (2:00) check-out if we wanted one for being members.
The breakfast buffet was better than I expected, but like others have mentioned, not gourmet or anything. It was fine for us and my kids thought it was great to pick out exactly what they wanted. I will mention that it is important to get there early if you want to avoid the rush. This wasn't a problem for us since we're early risers, but for someone who doesn't get up before 8:00 it might be. We also ate at the Club Car buffet for lunch on the day we arrived and it was OK being fast & reasonable (the kids ate free since it was before 5:00) but I wasn't in a hurry to return with so many other choices nearby. We grabbed cheeseburgers and onion rings from A&W one night and those were really good (hot & fresh) and we also used our pizza party coupon at Pizza Hut one night and it was plenty for the 4 of us. (I have coupons if anyone would like one, just PM or email me!)
My kids (ages 8 and 6) LOVED having their own room! They thought the bunk beds were awesome and they rented Nintendo games a couple times. My DH and I really liked having some privacy too and having the fridge and microwave was great. We moved to the Royal Pacific after our 4 nights there and while we loved the resort and thought everything was beautiful, we did miss having the extra space. The kids like HIFS much better, of course and wished we had stayed there.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!
