We just returned from 3 short days at VB. What a great resort! I think it is my favorite and I've been to all but BCV. I think they have the best of all the resorts there - on the beach and restaurants (unlike HH - which I love). THere's the hotel feel as well as being able to drive up to your separate villa. Bell service or do it yourself. We had an ocean view inn room and other than the slight mildew smell - it was perfect. My parents had a garden view handicap room that was huge. It had a king size bed and sitting area.(and my father broke his toe while we were there - so the handicap room was somewhat warranted). The ocean view room was much larger than I expected and the view was amazing. The resort is so close to the ocean and the grounds are beautiful. The pool area is the best of all the resorts I think - at least with little ones. The pirate ship entertained them for hours literally - then with the playground and mini-golf right there - there was no leaving. The beach was beautiful even if it isn't wide. I loved the secluded feel to it. All the CM's were great. We ate at Shutter's twice and Sonya's for the seafood buffet - which was great. Went out to eat in Vero at Ellie's - it was very good/pricey - but a little too shwanky with the kids.

We didn't get out to do anything in the area - just stayed and enjoyed the resort. Definitely need more days next time. The pictures don't do it justice - it was much more beautiful than I pictured. I was drooling over the Beach cottages...

Glad to hear you had a good trip.

Do you remember what room you were in?

We also think Sonya's and Shutters are very good and the pool area often keeps us busy all day.

we were in 2420. There were damp spots on the carpet which I called maintenance about - one next to the bed just appeared overnight - so I think there may be some sort of roof leak since it wasn't just humidity. I really liked the open balconies with the high pitched roof on the 4th floor. I looked down and saw the 3rd floor balconies were solid - not a railing - so I don't think the view would be as nice. I loved the view so much - I'm not sure I'd want to risk not getting one in a 1br - but a full kitchen woudl be nice there. My parents were in 2404 - a garden view HC room and it was very nice as well . Even though it looked out at the road - the lake was beyond that and it was nice view.

I'm thinking a small add-on there would be really nice - I know VB dues are the highest - what are they?

Annual dues for 2003 at each resort are as follows:

Old Key West - $3.49
Hilton Head - $3.69
Beach Club Villas - $3.97
Wilderness Lodge - $4.05
Boardwalk Villas - $4.10
Vero Beach - $4.37

Thank you ncligs...for 50 points, that doesn't make too much of a difference (at least that's how I rationalize it...)

I agree........I always wonder when posters say that about the dues also. We have 300 pts at VB ( for Beach Cottages

so the difference between OKW dues is about $270 a yr, not that much difference IMO, to have the 11 month window and access to the Beach Cottages whenever we want it.
;)
