Just back from BLT - some thoughts....

interesting
stayed at blt last aug and didnt have the issues mentioned. had to use key for doors, pool etd
going again next month, it will be interesting to see if any different

......I would think that in the future they might need to limit the number of people standing on the skyway during the fireworks just for safety reasons, too many people means too much weight[/B] and inability to get from CR to BLT for guests, especially handicapped guests.

You've raised a serious concern here :scared: people gathering on bridge during fireworks hopefully was factored in when it was designed because you are so right that weight can cause significant issue.

Especially after eating at Chef Mickey's! :rotfl2:

never thought about chef mick but it makes sense,,

...well watching this trend is why i posted. i think others reading
how some are successful sneaking in, & how many members
have no respect for the rules, they figured , they'll fit right in.

also i noticed a long time ago, how many non-blt owners are
putting up the negative image, but keep coming back. however,
i think for very good reasons.

why? did we chose blt/ because we like it there! there's only
one magic kingdom & it's only getting better!

some things have been a real puzzlement to me. a renter posted
he didn't feel liked he was treated liked an owner?? well if you're
not, than why would you expect that????

in 06, we were in the old building. it was old & lacking shine but
it was clean and we had a magical time. we had no plans last
july toward dvc. the toy story was being abuse by those brizzlaians
so we gave it look. one of our motivator factor, is being around
families with the same idea/s walt invented. after paying all this
money, my expectation is for disney redirect "party-crashers."

i will take corrective action supporting this goal. we want our
disney dream to be safe & sound. maybe blt owners need to
pull together? :flower3:

We just got back from our first stay at OKW. I enjoyed the resort, even though we were only there for 3 nights. I'm not sure I'd want to stay there without a car though. We had a car this time because we were attending a conference, and we also drove down to Vero.

I have not stayed at AKV yet, we want to, but probably won't do so for a while. We are planning on taking my parents when we return to WDW in October 2011 (too far away!), and I just think the transportation at BLT might be easier for them.

For us, the reasons we bought at BLT were:
  1. Location
  2. Transportation Options
  3. Longer contract

I am not really partial to any of the resorts, and I really don't understand the resort bashing that goes on here. All the resorts are beautiful and all of them have their pluses and minuses. I guess it's just human nature to justify your decision by discounting the other choices you had! Anyway, we plan on trying all the resorts (well maybe not SSR, but only because I'm not fond of the location)

I would like to echo your thoughts on bashing. I do wish Disney would do a better job of restricting access to the BLT bridge and pool.
