Epic Universe motion simulation rides: How bad are they?

I think it was pretty similar. FJ does one big swoopy motion on your back (while avoiding the whomping willow), which is probably the most "intense" move of FJ - I didn't specifically notice anything similar in Monsters. I meant to pay closer attention on the 2nd Monsters go-round, but the darn ride distracted me from detailed analysis.

I have to explain the ride to a few nervous people who still remember the effects of FJ. It's been so long they're unsure whether it was the screens or the movements that made them ill.

Oh well, guess they will find out in a few days.

I went ahead and spoiled both Monsters and BOTM for myself to see if they would make my mom sick. I actually think she might be ok. In FJ, the Quidditch and whomping willow swings get us both the worst, as do some of the last spins on Spiderman (she does better on Transformers, oddly enough). But it seems like you're not "entering" the screen scenes the same way on Monsters or BOTM, and the movements seem less jerky, at least in the POV videos. Is that accurate? Still pretty confident that Werewolf will be a no-go for her but at least since it's short she won't be waiting for us very long.

Exactly! There's no entering the screens like Forbidden Journey, Spiderman, Flight of Passage. No 3D glasses. Ministry has more screens than Monsters, but they're all crisp and not in your face. The movements on Ministry are milder than what I imagined. My daughter and I had a lot of shopping bags with us, which we placed on the floor of the "elevator" and nothing fell out at the end of the ride. Ministry only has a lap belt, which is less of a restraint than Yoshi 😂.

We rode Monsters several times and all agreed the Kuka arm was less intense than FJ. The screens here were only background effects so no headache.

Yes, this ride was more intense than Monsters and Ministry. The wait times were always longer than Monsters for some reason.

I'll go sans headwear next time. It may turn out to be a cute relaxing ride without playing.
I did ride Mario Kart several times without the visor during our 2nd trip to Epic. It was a cute ride with full physical sets, similar to Minnie's runaway railway. The only downside is your team will likely lose to Bowser with one less player.
