Just back from BCV's, two thumbs up!

BCV is my home resort and I loved the renovated rooms also during our stay in August. It is great to read such a positive review!

We are here right now. We just arrived yesterday and are in a studio. I definitely like the new theming and colors of the room. The lack of drawers doesn't bother us so much. We did have a few minor housekeeping issues that I did call about one being the front of the microwave was so filthy and sticky that I wouldn't want to touch it and the vinyl floor was dirty with crumbs and something sticky there as well. The only thing I'm not happy with is the bed. The bed is already seeing a lot of wear and actually dips in the center which meant that we were both rolling towards the center all night and the sides were raised so much that you had to climb out of the dip in the bed. That's my only complaint. I'm not sure these mattresses will last long.

The hot tub at SAB is still closed. Hopefully it will reopen soon.

Weather is perfect!

All 3? There are 3 of them. Usually at least one is open, although nothing surprises me anymore.

OP here. When I was there last week, and the week before that, the "18 and over" hot tub was opened but the temp. was lukewarm, not hot tub warm. I asked about it, one lifeguard said she thought they were waiting on a part. It really was unusable, think cooler than bath water. But it was open for use. The one next to that, was temporarily closed, but then reopened that day and was working great. The one next to the kiddie section (beach) was also open. So, given all that, I'm not sure what is happening today, maybe the poster above will specify which one is closed.

Oh, the good old days where Disney could keep hot tubs working all the time.

We were there 9/3-10 and that hot tub wasn't working then either. Pitiful, IMHO.

The hot tub by the lazy river/kids area is working as well up in the rocks. We've seen the broken hot tub empty, full, empty again and now full again but still not operational. The other one in the rocks was broken too when we first arrived but it is now fixed.

After sleeping on the bed for a few nights, it is still terrible and my back is killing me everyday. I'm ready to try the sofa bed. Sad if it is a newer mattress. I'm typically not too picky either.

Looking forward to arriving 11/18 for 8 nts. It's been 1-1/2 years since our last visit. Can't wait to see the refurb!

Thanks for the hot tub update, I really hope it gets fixed. To get excited for an over 18 only place anywhere on property, and not be able to use it, was just a tease :). So sorry to hear about the bed! I had the exact opposite experience, where it was the most comfortable bed I've ever tried, yet my DH felt like his side was sunken in? weird. Good luck trying out the sofa bed tonite!

Just an update on my letter to DVC, about the clock and Mr. Coffee request. I got a call back today, after sending an email last week. Talked to a very nice rep., who promises to send off my requests. Hopefully, soon the studios will all have full size Mr. Coffee's and a light up digital clock. I told her the radio with it is not necessary, just the time.

Just returned from 5 nights in a 2-bedroom at BCV during Food and Wine. Everyone has their own preferences, of course, but we were favorably impressed with the BCV renovations. The upgraded appliances worked well, the rooms and bathrooms were in perfect condition, the furniture was in great shape, the beds were more comfortable than the rock-hard mattresses of the past, and the cupboards were chock full of dinner- and cook-ware. Unlike some other members, we liked the decor and felt that it expressed the beach theme nicely. If I had to describe the change, I'd say the rooms feel less cottage-y and more like an upscale beach resort. The only disappointment was replacement of the hot tub by a (rather attractive) free-standing bathtub. But that was not surprising, as bathroom hot tubs are going out of fashion in the builder's market as well, as homeowners often find them expensive to fill and maintain. Anyway, a hearty thumbs-up from this family!

God, I hope so. We'll be there in March. I opted for the sofa bed when we were there a couple of years back.

We too had a wonderful weeks stay in a 1 BR Villa. I loved the new decor, although I didn't expect I would. My bed was very comfy. We met some great CM's and had a great trip.
