We stayed in dedicated two bedroom 378. I have info on room condition and views, and I know someone conscientiously compiles this info for all of us, but I don't know who that might be. Do you? Thanks, Marianne

I would love the info. Please feel free to post here or PM me.

Thanks

Oh please tell us. i am staying there this Nov. and i am getting neg. feedback lately about BCV and am anxious to hear about yours. (neg or pos)
you can Pm me if you like too.

The views: parking lot, lagoon and quiet pool were all visible. It's quiet, because it's at the end of a LONG hallway (220 paces from the main elevator-we counted). We were surprised that the furnishings were so worn: spots on the carpet, worn places on the couch. There was only one chair at the breakfast bar, but they brought two additional chairs when we asked. The room is directly adjacent to the stairs, which made it very easy to access the bus transportation.
I don't mean to be overly negative. We loved the pools; even the quiet pool was very relaxing, and the hot tub was pleasantly warm.

Boy are you right about the hike. My parents want to stay at BCV but we think the walk might kill them... The handicapped parking is right outside those 70's room but then the walk to the lobby, etc., is so far... I think we are going to do the Lodge instead when Grandma and Grandpa join us next March...

I like the view facing the quiet pool, think that whole front side is done so pretty. I feel sad that the decor of the BCV seems to be so susceptible to unusual "wear and tear." Glad you had a good trip!

The carpet stains are a bad thing, and the wear and tear on the couch is also bad. BUT.... One chair at the table???? What in world is housekeeping thinking???

UGH. Oh, geez... Surely MS is aware of the problems with BCV? Do you think they didn't get quality enough items to hold up to the constant use these villas get? I know everything is in lighter colors, but it sure seems to be wearing fast.

I hope we get good rooms next month. I'm taking my Dad with us and he works in the hotel industry.

When we asked for additional chairs at the breakfast bar, they said, "Oh, the chairs are in storage", like it would be unusual for you to want more than ONE chair. That was a little odd, we thought, since we had seven people in the two bedroom. They did bring two additional chairs quickly.
I don't mean to leave the impression that it was a dump, but it was definitely worn. It reminded me of beach town rental properties. Which I guess is appropriate!

First off, I could probably agree that the walk down to this room might be a bit of a problem for the elderly, but it certainly shouldn't be a problem for anyone else, unless there are mitigating medical circumstances. We were in the same location as this room, and made the trek with a 3 an 18mos old every day, and there was no big deal to doing this walk.

Now, on the room conditions. I would agree that there was some wear and tear in the villas, but as Ellynsoh states it is not a "dump". My feeling is that a majority of the complaints seem to stem from those DVC resorts that are attached to existing resorts (i.e. BCV, BWV, VWL). There doesn't seem to be as many complaints regarding OKW, and of course SSR just opened. My hunch is that the resort staff probably concentrates on the hotel end, while the DVC end only gets token treatment.

I don't know this, but do the shared DVC resorts also share staff with the regular resort, or is there separate staff for both?

Take a look at the resale board. Not alot of BCV contracts to be had, so that must say something.

Haven't had time to post a trip report yet, but our experience was FAN-TASTIC!!! This was our first time staying in the BCV, even though we've owned there for several years now, and oh my gosh they were BEAUTIFUL!!! As far as the walk goes, for years now we only put in one request besides non-smoking and non-handicapped - to be near the elevators. And we have ALWAYS gotten a room near the elevators when asking for it. Not only does it keep you from having long walks with lots of stuff, but it keeps you away from things like dumpster views and the like. I don't know if we were staying in a different BCV than the rest of you, but I was VERY impressed with the resort!

Does anyone think the problems with BCV wear and tear is because it's a new resort and that everything is getting worn out at the same time. Could it be that the older resorts like OKW are now into a regular maintenance schedule and that this hasn’t yet started at the BCV ? Disney might have planned not to do regular maintenance until after a certain date.

Ahhh....finally, something to take the heat off of the BWV lllloooonnnngggggg hallways! :p

We went to our home resort for the first time last thanksgiving.... I was a bit worried because there was a rash of BCV dirty room threads in early fall. I was releaved because every thing was clean. There was some slight wear to the unit(crayon on cabinet, large chip on end table, large faint stain on counter). All-in-all it was in good shape. Most importantly, we had a great time!

I think their selection of surfaces for the tables was poor. It seemed like there was not enough sealant (or what ever you want to call it) or wrong choice of surface materials for the kitchen table. This table seems like it was too easily marked/nicked/chipped by dishes and utensils. Also, I wondered why they chose non-removable fabric for the bench at a kitchen table?? As you can tell I'm a mother of a toddler and young child!!! I felt so bad when my little on spilled chocolate cake on the seat and I couldn't quite get it all off.

We were in BCV Villa #437 two weeks ago. No noticeable sign of wear in the room. Everything seemed to be in place. We had a great time! My only "complaint" was the size of the place. It helped us reconfirm our choice of "home" resort.
