We went for my husband's work convention this visit and I tagged along for fun. We've previously stayed POLY and AKL conceirge, so this was a bit of a different experience. We LOVED being so close to Epcot (literally a three minute walk to the entrance) but hated that they close SAB and its jacuzzi's at 8pm. It would have been fine since the quiet pool is open later, but the jacuzzi was gated off and looks like its under some sort of repair. I think we had a standard GV room and could see the fireworks from our standing balcony (the only full balcony they had was a parking lot view). The room was nice, I liked the decor. We weren't thrilled about the decor at Poly, but did like it fine at AKL. I don't know why, but the AKL seemed very clean, but Poly and BC there were bad stains on the carpet and the drain in the sink kept coming out. Just little things that bugged me. This time it looked like the housekeeping staff barely touched our room, little pieces of trash (like a tag) was still my the can where my husband left it after the room was cleaned. The beds looked like someone crawled on them after they were made. I know its little things, but little things big me. The last straw was a cockroach on the bath towel in the middle of the night. I guess I just don't feel like the rooms are clean enough for me. The big red stain the still felt hard on the carpet was gross. However, it probably layout and decor-wise was my favorite actual room thus far even though our others have been deluxes with fabulous views.

Has anyone else felt like their rooms were less than clean? At all resorts or just BC or Poly? I did comment on the Poly cleanliness when we received our survey, but I knew just after we left they were remodeling Tahiti, so I let it slide. We will be back next Sept, probably to the YC or BWI (any suggestions?) and in Decmber to WL. Will I be disappointed in any of these resorts?

The BC has just been renovated so the room should have been very clean. At least that was what the executive office assured me was the reason why things seemed "less then clean" when we stayed there last August 2002. The man stated it was just going under heavy renovation and that it was out of the ordinary to have it not picture perfect clean after the housekeepers were through with the room. I see that certainly isn't the case. Or at the very least wasn't the case the time when you were there.

In my opinion, the CR has the BC beat hands down for cleanliness. :wave2:

Did you mention anything while you were staying there about your room?

You know, I thought about saying something about the cleanliness of the room, but I didn't since technically we weren't paying for it and we had a pretty good convention rate to boot. I don't know, we spend tons of money at Disney annually now, I'm just not sure what I should expect from the rooms. We've been thrilled with the parks and most of the restaurant experiences, but the hotels leave me a bit cold. I can't imagine staying off property, but we pay good money for great hotel rooms because we enjoy them. I'm used to paying upwards of $300 a night for a great room at the Ritz Carlton and being entirely comfortable during my stay. The rooms at Disney (mind you, we've only stayed at deluxes) remind me quality-wise of Super 8's with great theming. Maybe I'm too picky. I've trained myself to focus on all the rest the resorts have to offer and not the room itself. This last trip, the bed was s uncomfortable I could barely sleep. The sheets were cheap and scratchy and the blankets were awful (those cheap poly fleece ones). Am I just expecting too much?
