Hi Corvair - thanks so much for starting this post. I will be staying 4 nights at Poly and 3 nights at Portofino - my trip starts July 5th. What did you enjoy the most about the Poly and Portofino? This will be my 40th visit and have never stayed at Poly but am excited about staying because of the convenience - my mother will be with me. Were you able to walk to US/IOA while staying at Portofino or did you have to take the boat? Also, at Poly was the bus transportation good?

Thanks for answering my questions.

What did you think of all 3?

Food, pools, rooms, housekeeping, everything!

;)

What one did you like the best?

Welcome back Corvair!

Glad you had a great time. Our last trip to Poly we stayed in room #1610 in Samoa...LOVED it. Sat on the patio with a great view and literally rolled out of our room to the Volcano pool!

;)

Welcome back. I can't wait to hear about it. Any good room view photos?

Aloha

Steve

all 3 resorts were great....loved ...loved.....loved the poly.....did I say I loved it.... the boat ride to MK was so fast.... we did not use the buses... we used the monorail...loved that too... the poly is so peaceful but yet so much fun and going on... I could not get my DH off the speed boats.. he did them 2 days...liked the AKL.. was nice... we used rental car from here...housekeeping was good at all 3... poly was very good and PBH gave us turn down with out requesting... AKL was just good.. nothing special. Our veiw was great off the balcony... close to the elevator to the Mara...my kids liked this pool ... but loved the volcano pool... the slide is the best... PBH has a good pool too.. I would say I liked... poly ...PBH... akl...... did I say I loved the poly.....amy

Oh food.. liked the poly the best... got coffee from the Kona coffee bar every day. My dh loved the cafe mocha.. ate ohannas for dinner got a window table without asking... saw the fireworks...loved it... breakfast here... my favorite charater meal....loved ohannas for breakfast... AKL -mara was OK.. i loved captain cooks.. i know people complain but i thought it was great... did not like Boma... was not for me... my DH liked it... PBH food was great...no food court ... had to use the restaurants even for a soda... but had great food .......see ya..amy ...just wanted to add... it sounds like I did not like the AKL,,, i did... i just liked poly so much better... i stayed at WL last year... akl in my opinon is so much better than WL... pool... food court....lobby... hottubs....

Glad to hear you had a good trip. I love the Polynesian too. Should be in my moniker rather than BCV probably!:teeth: I spent two night at the AKL in March followed by nine nights at the Polynesian with my family and I agree. I had a very nice stay at AKL and loved watching the animals but it just doesn't match the Polynesian IMHO.

Would you return to any or all of the three resorts?

I would return to all 3 resorts... but if i had to choose... it would be the poly... i loved it...the volcano slide was fast and very fun...amy

Hi there!!
Since you just recently visited AKL with children, was wondering if you could recommend a certain room no. or building to ask for when i call back a few days before we leave. We usually always stay at POFQ, so this one is new to me. I have three kids, two under 6, so I don't want long walks at night coming off the buses.
Please if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Brenda

I did not use the busses. We stayed in room 3427. this was on the lobby level. It was very close to the elevators which took you down to the pool and the Mara. To get to the room ... you walked through the lobby to the back and then took a right down the hall.. thanks..amy

so basically, you were on the zebra side and that is closer to the pool and such?

Brenda

Yes. I was on the zebra trail and that is closer to the pool and foor court... amy
